The Nest

A total nightmare, arrived at 4pm check in time, no key in key safe. Phoned and got through after about 10 minutes,. After 15minutes a lady arrived and said she was housekeeping person. her team had reported they couldnt get in earlier as key was not eft by previous occupant. so apartment not cleaned. Home Stay knew about this earlier in the day. They have no spare key. She contacted head office and they said they would send a maintenance guy. We then went off to await further info , Just round the corner lo and behold another group on the steps of a property with the same lady trying to get them in. Again no sparer key but fortunately the previous occupant was nearby and gave the key. About Said they would despatch <br/>Someone then called from Hartlepool and said there was someone on their way but not expected for 2 hours then the place would need cleaning. So here we are on the busiest weekend and no idea if we had a bed . Then they cancelled on us . Shambolic!!

Very friendly host, easy check-in & a nice clean and tidy flat. Tastefully furnished and quite modern. Easy to find, great location close to the town and beach, with a view of the abbey from the bedroom windows.<br/>One point to note for those visiting by car - as with other reviews there was not a parking permit, luckily we had a local family member's driveway to use. However, parking near the flat is basically impossible as the street parking is full at all times of day, so the lack of permit was really a moot point.<br/>If you go past the flat with it on your right, then turn left immediately before the small church, about 50yds down the narrow lane there is a pay and display carpark which is handy to use for unloading (it uses the JustPark app).<br/>Overall I would definitely stay again and recommend it

Nice location on top of the cliffs, sweet little flat with views to the abbey and onto the back yards. <br/>Decor is a bit tired, carpets need cleaning. <br/>Beware the extra fees - the cleaning and the parking all adds up.

Absolutely filthy!! Stains everywhere. Plants were dead. Dusty and just pretty disgusting. <br/>Parking permit wasn’t provided as advertised and the cot which we thought wasn’t included after speaking with the host, turns it was there so didn’t have to purchase our own. <br/>The host and stay team was also shockingly bad at dealing with this. We were moved in the end but only after we escalated to management.

Great location and great place to stay for a long weekend.

They need to get a new cleaning company as the property wasn’t clean. Past people hair all over bathroom and bedroom floors. £60 cleaning fee is added on when you book but everything needs a good deep clean. They send out the cleaners again the day after but still felt unclean. Great location

The decor was lovely and just like the pictures but small things needed cleaning better, the bin smelt bad, there was old stains all over the carpets, there was a hole in the wall, there were scuffs all over the walls, the pictures showed the nice decor but maybe not how small it was. There was also no pictures of the hall way you must walk up to get to the flat which doesn’t match the decor at all and only one light worked from the bottom floor right to the top.

The location is great, quiet but only a short walk into town for restaurants, bars and views of the Abbey.<br/>Apartment clean but carpets and sofa could do with some attention, rather stained.<br/>Could also do with some washing up liquid being provided and spare toilet roll.<br/>Overall, would recommend for a long weekend in Whitby.

Very clean and in a great location - only a few minutes away from the beach

Great location for the beach and shops/ cafes - we had a great weekend. However not as clean as we would have expected for the host taking a £250 deposit 2-weeks before the trip.

Apartment in great location. Within walking distance to everything. Parking permit included which was great. <br/>Rubbish left behind from previous guests and surfaces dusty. But otherwise a nice place to stay.

Very good location for a short stay in Whitby - Skinner Street in particular feels hidden away from the hustle and bustle with nice cafes and bars. Also close to the beach. Lovely view from the abbey from the bedroom.

Nice cosy appartment close to centre with train station and supermarket, park with childrens play area, and tourist hotspots.

The apartment was clean, tidy and as advertised. It was a close walk to the beach and had a nice view of Whitby Abbey. However, we had an issue with the parking scratch card not being left in the apartment even though I had confirmed this before our arrival. It took a few calls to get it sorted.

Nice place to stay in a central location. It is on the top floor so be prepared for quite a few steps up to The Nest. Lovely views, modern flat, has what you need for a pleasant stay in Whitby.

yeah, great little place. location is excellent probably the best shower we've had on this stay.

Great location. Easy check-in. Finding a “W” parking spot can be annoying. Fantastic view of the Abbey from the bedrooms. Overall clean but the carpet needs TLC/replacing. Would recommend for small families.

The location of the apartment is amazing. Generally a really nice apartment. However, it was a bit dusty in places on arrival and the carpet is stained. The boiler lost pressure, which we sorted first time. But obviously happens a lot as the screw was very worn and eventually the boiler stopped working altogether. Was fixed very quickly, so hopefully was just unfortunate and won’t happen again now. As I say, place is lovely and great views.

Great location. Very clean throughout with all the basics you need in a kitchen. <br/>Had an issue with heating/hot water boiler needing topping up so no hot water or heating on arrival but maintenance came out quickly. Comfortable furniture and beds. An enjoyable stay.

Perfect location and on the face of it, a lovely place. But look a little deeper and you struggle, stains on the carpet, damp on the roof, and little things like no oil to cook with, very small pans, nowhere to put clothes. <br/>Also was told about scaffolding at the property and that it wouldn’t affect our stay. Workmen then woke us up in the morning with banging and hammering. No refund or apology.

We can highly recommend The Nest as a great base for a stay in Whitby, the apartment is spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated and has everything you need in terms of home comforts for a break away. It’s in a great location being just a short walk into the town, just one thing to be aware of is the last flight of stairs which is quite narrow and steep so it may not be suitable for everyone.

The Nest was a wonderful weekend stopover location. We found the place spotless and well equipped. A great little place to enjoy the delights of Whitby. We were lucky to find a parking space just outside the property which was a bonus. An ideal location to enjoy the local restaurants and bars, just being 2 minutes’ walk down the road.

Beautifully appointed apartment in stunning location with great views of the Abbey. Clean, warm, comfortable beds with fluffy white towels made The Nest a perfect bolt hole to explore Whitby and the surrounding area. We had a great stay, thanks

Lovely flat with perfect view of the Abbey. The final flight of stairs are rather steep & tight.

This is an amazing place to stay! It is located on the west bay and have lovely views of the abbey to look out from the bedrooms! It’s is very worth the money! Clean spacious and all the little details thought about like fresh milk on arrival! Decorated with all lot of nice little touches! Lovely weekend <br/><br/>Be aware there is a lot of steps up to this place being on the top floor! Thanks again for a great stay

Lovely apartment, walking distance to the seafront and the town itself. Decor was lovely, views of the abbey from the bedrooms! The apartment was very clean. <br/>(lots of stairs up to the top floor (no lift) - so maybe not for you if you have mobility issues)<br/>Stay were great in terms of organisation and communication regarding our trip. We required a call out whilst we were there but they were extremely helpful and prompt in responding even out of hours. <br/>We were also provided with a parking scratch card which was very useful. I would recommend.

Trendy and clean apartment, short walk to attractions. The apartment is ideal for young couples without children.

Great stay. Supremely clean and nice views in a comfortable space. Location was great for beach access and town visits.
