Location was good<br/><br/>We could have been told that it was on the 4th floor with no elevator and that the bathroom was so tiny you could hardly move in it. the property was tired and run down probably because it was on the market for sale.

The view was good

good location. very clean ,comfortable and well equipted.<br/><br/>could have done with a parking permit. Even though apartment was next to a large car park ,unless you got there early there were no spaces left. Parking in Whitby is a nightmare !!

Heating was nice when you came in from the cold<br/><br/>No wi-fi working all holiday, needs a refurb, especially shower room, sink so tiny could hardly have a wash in it, up 6 flights of stairs which was not mentioned, do not book if you have mobility problems as my partner has. Kettle dented, only 1 cup out of 5 not chipped. Just little things but you expect breaks to be home from home or better. Didn't let it spoil our holiday tho.

Property was ok. Very small bathroom<br/><br/>The property added a security deposit of either £200 with a £10 handling charge, or a £25 charge, non refundable AFTER booking a non refundable stay and with a clear notice on booking that all charges and fees were included. The management only tell you of these charges two days before arriving, making it very difficult to change or cancel. I’m sure this is illegal and I will take this up with BOOKING.com

The location and sea view was lovely.<br/><br/>The fact there was no parking so we had to pay for daily parking, there was no lift so after a busy day those 52 steps were hard going especially with cases and bags in tow.

The location is amazing, stunning sea views from the master bedroom and good view of the church from the 2nd bedroom and sitting room windows! 10mins walk to Whitby Harbour area<br/><br/>Flat was on 5th floor, 6 flights of stairs, it was very clean but needs some basic improvements to decor, such as rub down to plaster on ceilings and repaint would make it perfect.

Key safe not clearly labelled, had to work it out from numbers on other safes. If you are not familiar with a key safe you would struggle to get in<br/><br/>Toilet and shower room were too small and nowhere to put toiletries

There was only 4 tea sachets and 1 toilet roll for the three day booking

A good central location with an excellent sea view.<br/><br/>Climbing up all those stairs. Lol! And the mattress was a little hard, we are used to a softer one.

Nice clean apartment.<br/><br/>Really not happy about the insurance excess you have to pay, this was not clear when booking the property and to top it off I was charge a £10 admin charge for the reimbursement. ?

Very clean & nice decor. Lovely views. Bedrooms spacious.<br/><br/>Lounge area a little small for 4 adults. Bathroom very small especially when showering.

Sea view was beautiful, two single beds were very comfortable but the mattress in the main bedroom very hard. Apartment had everything we needed. Coffee, tea and sugar already there nice touch.<br/><br/>I didn’t like the amount of stairs and the apartment needs a bit more attention to detail with the cleanliness. Found a plate of someone’s sausages in the microwave and it was also a little dirty. A few areas looked like they could have done with a wipe down.

Fantastic apartment, spotlessly clean, very comfortable, friendly communications, great location with views out to sea, just perfect.

Lovely views<br/><br/>The lights on the stairway wasn't very good. Some of the emergency lights wasn't working. The central heating boiler made a bit of noise throughout the night

Location was great. It was very clean and had everything you needed. <br/>Loved Whitby, accommodation was in a great spot to explore local area.<br/><br/>No parking permits were left as per instructions so had to phone up to request them. Was provided conflicting advice over the phone and then on email. They were delivered the next day after we had left for the day so only had a permit for the second night. Luckily didn't get a parking ticket.<br/>We also had no hot water. The staff were very unhelpful, literally reading the instructions for the boiler which we already had. I had to boil kettles to have a wash in the sink. Was not happy! After a few frustrating phone calls they sent someone to repair whilst we were out so we were able to have showers on the second morning before we left to go home. Such a shame as the apartment was lovely and this ruined what could have been a comfortable stay.

Has a sea view. <br/>Had everything you need. <br/>Quiet and comfortable. <br/>Lovely apartment.<br/><br/>It was up 4 flights of stairs ( which I hadn't realised when booking) a bit of a killer as I have Stage 3 COPD and my friend has not long had a knee replacement. <br/>Bit of a nuisance having to keep taking the dog out for the toilet. <br/>Apart from that no other issues.

It did have sea view but from bedroom window which was disappointing. The flat was very clean and everything we needed was provided<br/><br/>1)The flat was up in the attic up so many flights of stairs, if I had known I would not have booked . I am elderly and can manage some stairs, but this was exhausting. It really should state this. 2)Shower room was extremely small, even wash basin was small. 3)The lack of communication regarding check in and having to phone to get instructions. 4)E mails could not be read until I had got back home 5) I could not access the app as my phone does not have this facility. A laminated set of instructions in the flat would be useful. 6) It was not until after verification of booking that I was told a deposit was also to be paid, this should be made clear before verification

I liked the property, it was all I expected<br/><br/>I didn't like getting stung for £25 when I got there or the fact I had to pay for parking despite being promised a permit. The property is run by a company who are in it for the money. As I've said before the property was great it's the letting agent that is the problem

Great location for beach, town , harbour,.People visiting Whitby know you can't really go anywhere without climbing up and down steps 199 to the Abbey so a few flights of steps to the apartment isn't a problem unless you have mobility issues.

Loved staying at the Whitby Pearl, it’s perfectly located to explore Whitby and the beaches in the day, then saunter back to the cosiness of the well equipped accommodation.

The location is perfect: only 200 yards from the steps down to the West Cliff beach and a couple of hundred more to get to the Whale Bones and the steps down to the quayside and town. Great views out to sea from the main bedroom and over the countryside inland from the others.<br/><br/>There are three flights of stairs up to the flat (52 in total). Also, the parking is not ideal. You have to use a scratchcard that is left for you in the flat that allows you to stay on any of the streets in the W zone, but these are very popular. I had to drive round several times before eventually finding a spot. I don't think that's described clearly in the property details. My serious bug-bear however, is having to pay a £10 administration fee for the collection of my security deposit. I have complained and am still chasing a refund as I do not believe this was explained before I had booked.

Everything was brill.<br/><br/>Only down fall was smoke alarm placed above cooking hob so alarm always went off when cooked so stopped cooking.

Die Wohnung war sauber und die Ausstattung war gut. Die Lage der Ferienwohnung hat uns auch sehr gefallen.<br/><br/>Negativ war allerdings, dass keine kostenlosen Parkplätze zur Verfügung gestellt wurden. Was neben der Zeit für die Suche auch viel Geld gekostet hat. Es liegen im gesamten Bereich nur öffentliche, kostenpflichtige Parkplätze vor. Auf Anfrage zur Regelung beim Vermieter, haben wir keine Antwort bekommen. Die Möglichkeit bestand, dass uns der Vermieter eine Sonderparkgenehmigung für die Zeit der ausstellt.

Lovely flat - small but quaint with high standard of decor. Would highly recommend.

The stairs

The location, working tv, well equipped kitchen, big enough table, WiFi, clean towels and bedding.<br/><br/>We visited last year. Compared to that visit we noticed there were more damp patches on walls, bathroom wall furniture needed repairing, there were too many dog hairs covering the carpet and furniture, the kitchen floor hadn't been cleaned properly because it was covered in bits, the sink hadn't been cleaned and a towel from a previous visitor was hanging behind my bedroom door.

Exactly what we needed, perfect location extremely quiet will definitely be returning :)

location<br/><br/>Will Never use Host & Stay property ever again<br/><br/>The apartment was nice but will never use any accommodation run by Host & Stay ever again. Absolutely peppered by dozens emails before and during our stay. Wanted £250 bond but, if we didn’t damage anything they’d be good enough to return £240 of it a keep £10 themselves. Accommodation included Free Parking for the duration of our stay through a scratch card system. We scratched the card perfectly and parked exactly where informed. but still ended up with a parking ticket because they’d provided us with the WRONG scratch card. I phoned up and they admitted their mistake, sending a new one over to our accommodation (a little to late) and told me to email the ticket to them. I emailed it over to them and the squirming started. Apparently T&C’s state I should know it was the wrong permit and inform them. I have no idea how I should know its the wrong permit as I’ve never used one before. Basically they made a simple mistake but refused to do the decent thing pay the fine. Never again.

Beautifully presented apartment, whether if you were staying for a few nights or a week there was everything you could have needed, even a washing machine. The apartment is ideal for a couple or small family.<br/><br/>The only thing we disliked was the stairs up to the apartment.

The Location was fine<br/><br/>There were 52 steps up to the flat, as we are in our seventies it was difficult to get our belongings up the stairs. <br/>Also pillows on our double bed were flat

Great views over the sea. Good bedrooms and small but cosy lounge area.<br/><br/>Lots of stairs may be a problem for some. One issue was that we went for 3 days without dishwashing liquid despite requests to management. Way too many emails sent about simple procedural issues. Very tiny shower room.

The flat was clean, and plenty of items, eg tea/coffee milk extra<br/><br/>The flat was on the top floor, but advert did not say 5 flights of stairs, which was a problem for my husband who has health issues, so had to stay in flat for the duration of our stay

Comfortable, clean and cozy flat with well equipped kitchen, there's even a cocktail shaker! Seaview from the spacious bedroom is beautiful to wake up to. I can recommend this accommodation.

The living space was far too small, the beds were terribly uncomfortable and the property is located on the top floor (5 flights of stairs)

Lovely flat with good amenities and stocked up with tea,coffee and other essentials. Very cosy and great views.<br/><br/>Just remember it is at the very top of a few flats and my elderly parents and I struggled with taking the luggage up. The floor plan in the book is incorrect as the boiler is in the bedroom.

The apartment is beautifully presented, very clean with comfortable beds and a cozy sitting room. The kitchen is exceptionally well equipped, there was a pint of milk waiting for us as we arrived. It's in a very quiet area, within easy walking distance of the harbour.

Couldn't park in w zones as it was the bank holiday weekend and everywhere was packed.<br/>Had to park on car park . We paid for first day and then used parking pass .<br/>Was not made clear in info in flat that car park was not covered by parking pass and because it was so busy and we had had to ride round to park we didn't notice any signs and therefore ended up with a parking ticket which put a bit of a dampener on our stay.

The flat was perfect for a family of 4 . Location was great. Everything we need and could easily have done week or more

Lovely place, homely and cozy atmosphere. Clean and tidy with nice carpets and everything we needed. On the top floor so we had a workout with all the stairs, but the view was outstanding and well worth it. Bathroom is absolutely tiny and I would struggle if staying longer than a weekend, but overall really nice place to stay and we would come again.

Lovely, cosy, super clean and spacious accomadation. Right on West Cliff, easy walk into Whitby. Lovely views from both the front and the back rooms. The whole apartment looked as if it had only just been lovingly decorated.<br/><br/>Though the bathroom was small, and the shower head would not stay upright (forgot to mention this to the host actually) it was spotlessly clean and we didn't find this to be a problem. <br/><br/>I would definitely reccomend The Whitby Pearl. We had a comfortable stay.

We had a Lovely 2 night stay at the Whitby Pearl , 4 adults and dogs ,it was perfect . very clean and everything you need in the kitchen .
