Apartment was beautiful and spacious, excellent location.<br/><br/>There was no hot water for duration of our stay. They didn't answer the phone, only email, which was delayed. Such a shame because apartment and location was beautiful but customer service terrible. Balcony could have done with a clean.

Comfortable, modern and excellent location with its own parking space.<br/><br/>Balcony area very dirty, furniture had lots of bird droppings.<br/>Bad iron burn mark on carpet in one of the bedrooms.

easy walking to the city - but very difficult to find with the car , Balcony was lovely - very good appliances -<br/><br/>We found getting in the property very confusing - admittedly we could have all read the instructions better, but quite a bit of faffing to get the key - Only 3 pillows on the double bed, the carpet on the stairs was sodden - so always had a wet foot - did smell a little due to this - and it cost a further £ 10 (non refundable ) for the security deposit .

Location was excellent, apartment very spacious with a lovely balcony for catching the evening sun.<br/>Plenty of seating for 4 adults, comfortable beds and spacious bathrooms.<br/><br/>Wasn't as clean as it could have been, dirty crockery in dishwasher.<br/>One bed had 3 not 4 pillows.

Lovely flat, walking distance to town center and shops, also local shops just round the corner.<br/><br/>We have experienced some issues but it was dealt with exceptionally so not much to complain about as everything was sorted out at the end. Would stay again.

Great everything you ever need

Was dubious about booming this place as they asked for a security deposit off site. <br/>Airbnb assured me they were reputable. <br/>The flat was lovely but I made sure to video and photo the stains already on the carpet as £250 is a large deposit for damages. <br/>Instructions were terrible. The flat was not easy to find as it us not in the main building entrance. <br/>There is no permit. The parking instructions didn't say we needed one and there wasn't one anyway. We got 2 car parking fines despite following the badly written instructions . <br/>This company has obviously never been to this flat. <br/>My short 3 day break with my partner was broken by having to call hours between companies and Airbnb and their poor customer service line that had zero idea of this flat and messages etc. <br/>Totally ruined my trip. <br/>The only saving grace is the flat is nice. And they're going to reimburse the parking fines I received. But I'll have to wait two weeks, just like I have to wait two weeks for my deposit

Comfortable apartment within a short walk from York centre.<br/><br/>4 light bulbs broken. We can see from other reviews that this has been mentioned a few times so it’s disappointing that this isn’t being addressed by the managing agent. The hall and stairs up to the living room could do with some redecoration. More specific information on how to access the car park need to be included in the information as, if you get on the wrong side of the bollards, it is a 15 minute drive to get to the other side.

Room is big enough and quite clean.<br/><br/>The service manager didn't send me the detail address of the apartment and self checking process via email so I had to check with them on the phone back and forth to get the address and check-in guide when I arrived in the block. The most terrible part was I had to play the puzzle game to find the code and key in a so called bike store. Finally it took me 1 hour to enter into the house with the help from one neighbour. Is it difficult to post a sign on the wall or door to instruct the customer find the key quickly? How desprate when I was still looking for a key at 10:00pm with 2 kids and luggages! <br/>If you look for convenient and comfortable travel experience, I won't recommend this apartment despite it is quite new

Great location with parking just a short stroll from the centre of York. Superb for a short break with the children as so much more space than a hotel.<br/><br/>Not very clean (hairs all over window ledge and in bathroom), 2 of 4 bedside lights and ceiling light in dressing area not working so had to buy our own lightbulbs. Balcony doors didn’t lock so property is not secure.

Had a fantastic stay in the heart of the city! The location was perfect, but the only adventure was finding the keys. Once sorted, everything was smooth sailing.

Such a great location and nicely decorated. Host is very communicative<br/><br/>The direction to collect the keys weren’t the clearest in terms of where the bike shed is as there’s another outer bike shed. Also can be quite difficult to find when driving with dead end streets but this is not the hosts issue!

A Modern, clean well furnished apartment in a good location. The apartment was lovely and warm which was good after a day walking around York in -2 degrees!<br/><br/>Minor niggle, main light and lamp in both bedrooms not working and bedside table legs loose, things that should have been sorted by the house keeper

Very difficult to find by road because of all the restricted roads.<br/><br/>A cooker that was easier to use. It was too clever for a holiday let.

My reason for a lower score is not because of the accommodation but due to the small print on the booking confirmation. Please note when you book, you will be asked for a deposit. I couldn't then cancel as I would loose money. 3 nights = £250 deposit. This is held 7 days after you check-out and then released to your account, taking another 3-5 days to process. <br/>I questioned this, but was advised the property would be inspected after we vacate, if so why would they need to hold the money for 7 days. If the property would then be used again by another guest, surely we vacate- the property is inspected and then the money is released if in good order? <br/>For this reason I will not book again with any accommodation which is connected to Host and Stay. I did receive my full deposit, 9 days after I checked out. £250 might not be a lot but this caused a lot of stress, I learned though. Accommodation is clean and central, parking space was taken by someone else. Advised to use bollard.

Really enjoyed the stay. From the directions, access codes, amenities to the checkout, nothing but excellent!

More detailed instructions as to how to find the entrance keys. Instructions on how to use appliances would have been helpful as not everyone has these at home. Happy with most things.

Nice and comfortable flat near the center of York. Very easy to find and there is also a place for the car which is very convenient. Arrival could be done even late thanks to the key box and indications given by the owner are very clear.<br/><br/>Nothing

Whilst we cannot fault the apartment, cleanliness, location etc & quick response from Host to queries, the shine was taken off by the failure to guarantee the free parking which was stated on the advert. On arrival the allocated space was not available, and on contact to the host we were told the only option was to park in a paid car park in the town centre, at minimum £16 per day. Its a shame as the apartment was lovely, clean and comfortable with some basics of tea coffee and bathroom toiletries provided, & location was great to walk into town in 10 minutes, but wouldn't recommend booking if parking is important to you, as no support from the host once we raised as a problem. If parking had been available as advertised then this would have been a 5 star review all round

Lovely clean comfortable apartment well decorated and equipped.<br/><br/>It was very difficult to get the key out of the bike shed. Thankfully some neighbours explained the door is very temperamental and difficult to open. After many attempts and with their help we got in. Future guests need to be aware that it needs to attempted several times.

Great location, although post code takes you to a dead end street. Apartment very clean with everything needed for a short break. King beds are 2 singles pushed together which is not great. I would stay there again.

Perfect location for a 2 day stay in lovely York

Close to city centre with parking. Kitchen facilities good with 2 separate nice bathrooms.<br/><br/>The beds were hard and the duvet didn't fit across the bed fully, so we had a tug of war with it!

Lovely apartment really close to the heart of the city. Beautifully appointed. Comfortable beds and great bathrooms. The ONLY downside was the water temperature. Showers were luke warm and impossible to get sufficient hot water for a bath. That was a real disappointment after a chilly day walking around the city.

There are pros and cons with any place…<br/>Pros: great location, thoughtfully decorated, great balcony, great cooking facilities, a nice atmosphere. <br/>Cons: very confusing checkin, it wasn’t obvious from the instructions that you need the fob on the key ring to lower the barrier to get into the car park. You get the key from the bike store as stated in the instructions but the bike store is not obvious. 2 circles of the building we found it, it just looks like a cupboard and is not signposted as the bike store. During our stay someone was parked in the designated car park space for the whole stay. Also the double bed was 2 singles pushed together, this was very uncomfortable as it means you can’t sleep in the middle of the bed without the 2 mattresses separating and a crevice forming. Therefore you have to sleep within the boundaries of the single mattress. I had 2 nights poor sleep out of 3 and for this reason I wouldn’t stay again.

good space in a nice building.<br/><br/>Had no key fob for the car park , with no parking over an hour on the local roads it was not fun. Also local roads now have bollards put in so the post code doesn’t take you to the car park you can’t get in.

Brand new apartment with luxurious furniture.<br/>Don't agree with the extortionate deposit and extra admin fee added after booking. communication with hosts very good until advised then WiFi password would not work and they no longer responded. only criticism of the place is they need instructon manuals to use things like oven and heating etc as has to spend long time working this out. overall I would recommend

Great apartment and convenient location for York city centre which is just a short walk away. Clean with nice underfloor heating in the bathroom but the hot water wasn’t very hot at all even though on the max setting in the shower<br/><br/>The communication needs to be vastly improved. The check-in process was far from satisfactory (even though this challenge has been raised by other guests before in their reviews). Surely a simple (and accurate!) step by step instruction with pictures is not too much to ask? I had to call the office to seek assistance and was told to go through the door marked number 5. That was someone’s apartment! M<br/><br/>Further confusion experienced with the check-out time meant that we felt we needed to leave earlier than agreed. This was regrettable.<br/><br/>Also there was an additional cost and questions to answer (to a third party) once the booking had been made. This was a surprise to me and if stated in the terms must have been buried deep in the depths!

A well located property with parking only walking distance to York city walls. A well equipped, maintained and clean property. Could have stayed for longer!

Lovely apartment in great location. Spotlessly clean and well equipped. However, directions were poor (no mention of bollards which meant the car park could only be accessed via the Abbot Street of Garden Street, information about mandatory insurance cost was buried in the listing and involved giving away personal data. Hot water was intermittent and we had to keep switching the immersion heater off and on again. Response to complaint was super quick though. And we only managed to get the key out of the bike store because a previous reviewer had warned it needed a very gentle touch.

Add in the texts with links and various emails on how to access the property - too much info, one concise email telling you all you need to know is all that is needed.<br/><br/>Access to the property by car isn't easy as roads closed off to cars. Also night time arrival difficult with code needed for bike shed, then key box code, then building door code. Once in it is fine but overall experience of finding it and getting in weren't great....though we did arrive after dark.<br/><br/>I didnt like paying an additional deposit of £250 after booking the property.

Great apartment in fantastic location. beautifully appointed. Couldn't fault it. Little frustrations. Check in process is convoluted. For a while we couldn't open the bike shed despite having the code. Turns out the handle needs a gentle touch. No problem if you know that. Big problem if you don't. Brochure could be clearer and significantly more comprehensive. How does the heating work, how do all the lights work, recommendations on places to eat (other than just one cafe!!),etc. Overall, place is fab, but attention to guest engagement with an environment they don't know, needs attention. Four out of five.

The location was fantastic

The apartment and the listing were top notch, but I had some significant problems with check in on the property. <br/><br/>Although the Host provided a full website brochure on the property and how to check in and what was around, the information inside was severely lacking to a point where we could not access the property.<br/><br/>I had 4 different messages about pass codes and entry points. Including incorrect codes.<br/><br/>This task was made even harder by being provided the wrong door entry codes and the information deck not providing the correct information as to where to find keys etc<br/><br/>All in all I was pleased with the facilities and stay in the apartment, but the check in experience was awkward.<br/><br/>I was able to contact the host by phone and get the correct information quickly from the agent that answered the phone.
