Beautiful home. Clean tidy and all the facilties you need. Quiet area no issues with parking. Close to city. Really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be returning.<br/><br/>No negatives

Location was very central and the house was nicely decorated and comfortable. Kitchen was well equipped for cooking and it was lovely to be able to eat breakfast outside in the garden. Perfect size for a couple's holiday. Older reviews mentioned the lack of smart TV but the house did indeed have one when we visited.<br/><br/>The duvet on the bed was too warm for the season, could have done with a thinner one for summer as it was 30c when we visited. There were no instructions on how to work the dishwasher so we were unable to use it. There were no pods for the coffee machine, but there were instant coffee sachets.

Walkable location to a lovely city from a nice home, but we left feeling very let down. It took more than 1.5 days to get a response about a possible security issue, there was compulsory damage insurance with details about what we'd paid for held back until we'd paid, and many bulbs needed replacing / fittings were wobbly and needed tightening. For what we paid it didn't seem worth it.

This house was great. It is ideal for what I wanted. Everything was clean and tidy. The furnishings were modern and comfortable. The bathroom was a highlight with a roll top bath. It felt like luxurious and spacious even though the house was small. <br/>The only real issue I had if at all was parking. Most of the time I could park right outside the house but there was one night where I had to park a little way away but I could still see the car from the bedroom window so that fine. <br/>It’s ideally located for the city centre but far enough away that you’re away from the hustle and bustle if you need a bit of quiet. And I thought it was really reasonably priced. <br/>I’m definitely going back. It was excellent for a little getaway.

Nous avons profité de la petite terrasse arrière, ensoleillée le matin, pour prendre un café. Décor au gout du jour.<br/><br/>Il a fallut contacter par téléphone les opérateurs pour procéder au paiement, alors que tous les autres transactions durant notre séjour au Royaume-uni passaient sans problème par le site de Booking. <br/>Nous avons aussi dû prendre une assurance obligatoire pour la durée du séjour qui s'ajoute aux frais de location.

The terrace house was very tidy and organized. Everything was clean and ready to use. There weren’t any shops or eateries nearby that I could tell, but within a 30 minute walk you found everything. The plumbing in the bath was a bit wonky. Flushing the toilet took practice and turning off the faucet and shower completely was a bit of a challenge. But it was a well kept property otherwise and very suitable.

Great stay for a family of 3. Approximately 25 minutes steady walk into the centre along the stunning river. Fully equipped kitchen. Easy self check in and out. Would stay again if visiting York.

This was one of the best places we’ve stayed without a doubt! It was really easy to get to when arriving and going to and from the city. Very clean and tidy house - as well as being so beautiful! Only downside I’d say was that the bed was not the most comfortable one ever, but it did the job at the end of the day. Would definitely stay there again!

Lovely place to stay in York. Beautifully presented and very clean and tidy. Be aware there are some extra insurance charges that come after you have booked on the Airbnb site .

The home was as described with a few extras such as a hairdryer which was not listed. It is a beautiful space and very well firnished nut coukd donwith some upgradesbin regards to the tv. also, there is a coffee machine but no pods available. There is a lovely shower but at our time of visiting there was no available hot water. The very nice bath did manage to appease this. <br/>I found the constant emailing and text messages from the host annoying. I feel £50 cleaning fee is excessive when A. you are asked to leave the place clean on the leaving message and B. there was dust and cobwebs throughout the property. We also asked for early check in by one hour but this could not be accommodated because of a cleaning schedule. <br/>Overall, the property did what it said on the tin but I wouldn't be in a rush to rebook.

The property was beautiful, we had a lovely stay. We would happily stay again. The transport isn’t far from city centre and there are multiple restaurants and little pubs around.?

Very well furnished and decorated, was a very cosy stay. Good location not too far from town. Very comfy bed<br/><br/>A smart TV the would make a big difference here. You have a washing machine and a coffee pod machine so a couple of washing tabs/coffee pods would make these usable. Also the shower didn’t go very hot? Dishwasher handle falls off ever time you try to open the door. Overall very happy with stay though

The property has been renovated to a high standard. Although there was no designated parking, I was able to park outside the property. It is very easy to get to York city by public transport.<br/><br/>There was a major safety issue when a handrail on the stairs came away from the wall. A previous review reported the issue but nothing had been done to make it safe. THIS ISSUE MUST BE RESOLVED BEFORE A SOMEBODY IS SERIOUSLY INJURED!!

It had a washing machine, cooking facilities. The bathroom was incredible.<br/><br/>Steep stairs with a hand railing that had come off the wall I was left feeling nervous when I had to go up and down them. Bed was uncomfortable, there was a lot of flies when we first came in. Hot tap in the bathroom was faulty. Could of done with a tv in the bedroom. The pillows were uncomfortable!! It wasn’t the cleanest.

This was a nice cosy place very close to anything you could wish to visit in the centre of York. The host was very communicative and wished to ensure the stay was as pleasant as possible. The house was clean and tidy, with a very pleasant aesthetic. Would definitely stay here again the next time we come to York

Lovely accommodation only 15 minutes walk along the river into York centre and the train station. Good local pub round the corner and a great Chinese Takeaway. Ideal after a day walking round York. Would recommend.

The Railway House was clean and newly renovated. The living area was very small but certainly enough for 2 people. We could not checkin till 4.00pm which I think is rather late.<br/><br/>I was very unimpressed with the extra charge of $30 transaction fee I was charged for paying the accidental damage. Very happy to pay the damage bond but not the extra fees.

The place was lovely, great size for a couple and beautifully decorated. Big comfy bed, reliable wifi, lovely bath and shower. It's a little out of the centre: about a 10-15 minute walk which was completely doable for us. There was plenty of free parking outside and everything felt safe and secure. The only small downsides were the TV- very old and glitchy with no facilities for apps like Netflix and the fact that the security deposit is held for 2weeks after leaving the property, this seems so unnecessary.

Great stay in a perfect location, 10 minute walk into the centre of York, along the river. The house was clean, had all the amenities required and was great value for money. Would definitely come back.

Super clean and felt right at home. It’s only a 20 minutes from town and it’s a super easy walk through the park and along the river. Loved staying there and everything was super easy.

The place was really nicely decorated and clean and not far from York.<br/>The only things are they supply the absolute basics, they left 3 tea bags and coffee sachets and wouldn’t provide anymore so we had to go find a Tesco and get all the essentials which is fine but always think it’s nice when they provide more than enough as it’s not a cheap place to rent. Also the TV is super old and didn’t have any channels on it.

Really lovely house, felt homely and had everything you needed. Beautifully designed. Only a 20min walk from train station and 25min walk to city centre.

We had a lovely stay at The Railman’s House, it was clean and fresh upon arrival, everywhere was well kept and it was modern and cozy. We walked into York along river path, it took 15 minutes and it was a great location to sightsee, eat and not worry about parking. <br/>The only issue we had was that the mattress was very uncomfortable, we informed Host & Stay who swiftly said they will deal with it.

Does exactly what is mentioned, house is lovely and is great for a weekend away! Really cosy bedroom and has great bath and shower! Living room and kitchen area both really nice too.<br/><br/>Just a 20 minute walk to York Centre and 10 to the station. (This is quite a scenic route too with a lovely walk through a park and by the river ouse!)<br/><br/>Be aware - Only issue is I had to pay an extra fee of £25 (or a refundable deposit of £250!! in which there is a £10 transaction fee) outside of airbnb to cover damage which I found a bit ridiculous, and annoying that this was not mentioned in the original description especially after already paying quite a substantial cost<br/><br/>But despite having to do that I had zero complaints about the house, it was great.

And if you want to go for a walk outside of city centre you’re near some open fields which is nice. House was really clean and hosts were super responsive. Would definitely stay again!

The house was exceptionally clean and tidy with all the essentials for the perfect break. The city centre is walkable in under half an hour and if you didn’t fancy the walk there are numerous bus stops and bus routes that operate really close to the front door! The hosts were quick to answer the phones and allowed us to check in early to dump our bags. <br/><br/>Only problem we experienced was extremely loud construction noises coming from next door. Luckily we were out for most of our stay, so it didn’t bother us too much. We did let the host know as I can imagine this would not be ideal for future guests! <br/><br/>Overall, we would recommend the place to anyone who fancies a cosy getaway to the beautiful city that is York.

The cottage was so lovely. It was really spacious and excellently decorated. Me and my partner loved our stay here, and it was even still decorated for Christmas when we got there which was a cozy touch! The location is great, it's a very quiet area and only 25m walk along the river to town (just be aware buses basically finish at 7pm so after then you have to taxi or walk).<br/><br/>The only minor things were that there was no recycling container (so we had to use own bags) or instructions how to find the recycling. Also the TV - as its slightly older we had to use laptops and HDMI to watch netflix etc which was a little bit of a faff. But really they're such a tiny things and they didn't hinder our experience at all!

Lovely place done up to a high standard. Loved our stay here and absolutely loved the bath. Great for a couple, cute and cosy and has everything you need. <br/><br/>There were a few things that could have made it better such as having a smart tv, the toilet seat is broken and the shower doesn't seem to let out hot water, it's lukewarm weirdly, more on the cold side so definitely one to sort. There was also a plate of eaten grapes left behind I assume by the last guests which wasn't great but overall a good stay. <br/><br/>Location is a little far from the city by foot but easy to get to by car.

Lovely place

We had a lovely stay. Location was great with easy short walk into York. It was perfect for a short break.

The railman’s house was a luxurious, cosy and contemporary property. We felt very comfortable and well catered for here. The house is very stylish and modern throughout, and was clean, quiet and highly enjoyable to be in. It’s a lovely 25 minute walk to the city centre along the river Ouse and over either one of the bridges. Highly recommend staying here if you want to explore York and have all the amenities of a house.
