Broadstairs is widely known for its stunning beaches and boasts several sandy shores that are all individually wonderful.
Viking Bay is the main beach and the perfect spot for swimming, sunbathing, and picnicking. It also gained the Seaside Award 2023 which celebrates the best beaches in England. Viking Bay was also the holiday destination of choice for Charles Dickens and he even wrote a piece on the town itself named ‘Our English Watering Place’.
There are other beaches such as Stone Bay and Joss Bay which are both as beautiful, yet offer a quieter atmosphere for a more relaxed seaside experience.
Attractions and experiences…
Broadstairs offers opportunities for outdoor activities such as coastal walks along the cliffs, water sports and golf. The town is also part of the Viking Coastal Trail, a 32-mile walking and cycling route that explores the area’s scenic coastline.
You also need to experience a trip to Morellis Gelato! The first Morelli’s Ice Cream Parlour was opened on the Broadstairs sea front above Viking Bay in 1932 and to this day is still thriving! Serving some of the best home made gelato, we recommend you treat your taste buds to one of these sensational ice creams.
