The Space
Step through the front door directly into the kitchen. With a tiled floor and fitted cottage style units with a butler sink, amenities include a fridge with freezer compartment, washing machine, microwave, electric cooker and hob. The window overlooks the front, and a door leads up the stairs, whilst the other door leads through to the living room.

A cosy carpeted room, the living area at Claire’s Cottage houses an original fireplace which remains a delightful wood burning stove. You’ll find built-in cupboards and bookshelves on either side of the fireplace. There is a comfortable two-seater sofa and TV, plus an extending gateleg dining table with two dining chairs.

Overlooking the back garden, the bedroom is carpeted and has a king size bed with bedside tables and lamps. There is also a wardrobe and a dressing table, together with a chest of drawers and an armchair.

Head to the bathroom and you’ll find a shower cubicle, a hand basin, a heated towel rail and WC.

Outside Claire’s Cottage is a pretty, enclosed garden which is south facing and a real suntrap. There are planted borders and a small patio area by the back door, along with garden furniture and a BBQ.

Neighborhood
The suburb of Saltwood, on the edge of Hythe, has a hotel with bar and restaurant called The Castle which is just a five-minute walk from Claire’s Cottage. There is also a Michelin starred restaurant called The Hide & Fox which is well worth booking ahead for a special occasion.

Take a walk to Saltwood Castle and enjoy the stunning views out to sea from the public footpath through the park or visit Brockhill Country Park, only 15-minutes' walk from the cottage.

Hythe is a traditional seaside town with a lovely mix of independent shops, cafes and restaurants. The delightful Romney Hythe and Dymchurch miniature steam railway will whisk you away to Dungeness and the lighthouse. Hythe Bay shingle beach and the wonderful wide esplanade along the seafront is the perfect place to breathe in the sea air and enjoy the views to France.

Head for the Royal Military canal for some fun in boats or perhaps have a day out at Port Lympne Wildlife Park which is only a few miles away.

If you prefer a countryside ramble just head out to one of the many villages on Romney Marsh and do some exploring - the 14 historic village churches are well worth a visit.

Nearby Sandgate is very popular and great for finding antiques or visit the Little Fish and Chip Shop and have your fish and chips on the beach whilst the sun goes down.

Folkestone Harbour Arm and Creative Quarter offer a vibrant and fun shopping and eating experience. If you need some retail therapy look no further than Ashford Designer Outlet centre, where you can pick up a bargain and enjoy one of the many cafes and restaurants.

Lovely stay at cosy Claire’s Cottage. It had everything you would need for a stay away from home. Walkable to Hythe high street (although be aware of the uphill journey back). Enjoyed dinner at the incredible Hide and Fox - well worth a visit.

Really nice and clean cottage! Compact but practical and well equipped. Beautiful garden and located in a quiet neighborhood. I didn't like the "refundable" damage deposit with an £10 admin charge. The place isn't cheap and the admin charge makes it even more expensive. The cost of the damage deposit is also not advertised in the listing. And a third party payment system is used for the deposit, so AirBnB can't help in case of issues. It also take quite long to get the deposit back.

For the two of us Claire's Cottage is a nice compact size, it has been very nicely refurbished and is very well equipped. It has a lovely garden and the cottage is located about 15 mins walk from the town centre. We have stayed there several times and the owner who lives close by has always called in to check everything is ok.

The space felt extremely ‘homely’ and you could tell a lot of extra care had been taken. Nothing to say.
