Sleeping up to six guests, 2 The Mount is a spacious and welcoming two storey holiday home. Located close to some of Whitby’s most famous attractions, the property is within walking distance of all that the town has to offer, including the whalebones and West pier. You’ll have full access to the property during your stay which includes three bedrooms, an ensuite bathroom, two separate bathrooms, a fully equipped open-plan kitchen, living and dining space, plus private on-site parking.

The Space
2 The Mount has a spacious kitchen with modern appliances including a dishwasher, fridge-freezer, kettle, microwave, oven, hob and washing machine. The grey, shaker style kitchen cabinets are ultra stylish and the high shine surfaces create a real sleek look within the space.

Also sharing this space is the living and dining area so it's great for socialising and unwinding with your loved ones. The dining area features a table and matching dining benches. Boasting a comfortable corner sofa and a TV, the living area is bright and homely.

You’ll find two bedrooms and a Jack and Jill shower room on the same floor. The first bedroom boasts a king size bed and the second bedroom sleeps two guests with twin single beds.

In the basement, you’ll find the third bedroom which is a king bedroom with an ensuite shower room complete with a WC and basin.

Host & Stay are committed to our owners that their homes are protected during guest bookings. For this reason, we require all our guests to transfer a Damage Deposit (refundable, subject to an administration charge) or, to purchase an Accidental Damage Waiver which will cover you for up to £500.00 of accidental damage during your stay.

Neighborhood
2 The Mount is located near the harbour and beach in Whitby, and you’ll find restaurants, shops and pubs less than a 5-minute walk away.

The house is located on the West side of Whitby. You’ll be able to revel in the nostalgic seaside charm - head to the arcades or explore the beautiful, blue flag West Cliff Beach which is lined with idyllic beach huts.

Venture over the swing bridge and you’ll reach the East bank. This side of Whitby is full of narrow, medieval streets dotted with boutiques, pubs and fish restaurants. Climb the famous 199 steps up to the Church of Saint Mary. You can also discover the renowned ruined Whitby Abbey, which was the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s gothic novel ‘Dracula’.

Step outside of Whitby and you’ll uncover a haven of woodland and moorland. Whitby forms part of the North York Moors National Park so it’s the perfect place for long walks.

Getting Around
You’ll find restaurants, pubs and shops just in a short walk from 2 The Mount.

Whitby train station is nearby so villages and towns along the North Yorkshire coast can easily be reached via rail. There’s also a taxi rank in close proximity to the train station.

There are plenty of bus routes throughout Whitby. Hop on the X4 and you can visit beautiful coastal villages like Sandsend, Runswick Bay and Staithes. The X93 travels along the coast to Scarborough. The 95 route features plenty of quaint villages, such as Grosmont and Lealholm.

Guests have access to the full property. The keys to 2 The Mount are accessed via a key safe box, and full details will be provided prior to your stay.

Private on-site parking is available for one vehicle. Pay and display parking is available nearby for guests staying with more than one vehicle.

Up to two well behaved dogs are welcome to stay at 2 The Mount per reservation.

A lovely place to stay. The only issue was that the online guidebook wasn’t available on the day of arrival, and there was no info in the house itself. So had to message to get WiFi codes etc.

We stayed for 2 nights. Location was right in the centre and within easy distance of all the attractions. The place itself was clean and exactly as described. There were a few things that could be improved for future guests (tumble drier doesn’t work and the airer isn’t functional) which the host has been notified and I’m sure will rectify. It’s our second time staying with Host & Stay (different locations) and we have been pleased with both stays. Would recommend

Number 2 The Mount is a great property - it was extremely clean and well equipped, furnished and maintained. It was exactly as described in the listing and was very comfortable to stay in.<br/>The location was great - easy access to the all the main areas of Whitby but not too noisy. <br/>The information provided about the property was very helpful and gave lots of suggestions for places to try - we tried a couple of them and they were worth a visit. The communication from the host was very good and they were very helpful.<br/>Would definitely use the property again when we visit the area.

The location of this property was perfect, short walk from everything in Whitby but not in the hustle and bustle of it all. <br/>Parking was actually very easy. We had one parking space with the property (we had two vehicles between us) so one of us used that space but there are so many car parks in Whitby, 2 of which are literally not even a minutes walk from the house, my friends used one of those and paid I believe £39 for 5 days. <br/>We all had a blast, even our two dogs and if we decide to stay in Whitby again we’ll definitely be booking here again.<br/><br/>Honestly I didn’t hate anything about this property.

The property itself overall was as described however on arrival our parking space was taken by another party and I couldn’t contact the host as they use a call centre who can’t do anything to help. This set the tone for the rest of the stay. We then found mould spots on the bed sheet in the single room and had to pay to park after no help from the host. I was then offered a refund for parking costs and have never received any follow up after stating they would resolve the issue. Such a shame as this has so much potential to work better if they have a local host who can deal with the issues at hand.

First of all, the place is great. It accommodated 5 of us easily with good location (albeit at the top of a hill). The property is split on three levels with the dining/living area on the top. You enter on the middle floor (bedrooms) and the ensuite is on the lower floor. Well equipped kitchen and a nice large fridge/freezer. <br/>Jam on the caked would have been to have A/C or a fan as we were so lucky to have hot weather and the living area (even with windows open) was hot. But nice weather!! so nothing really to complain about.<br/>My big issue is that the 'family run' host and stay is the opposite of that. When using the airbnb app, the responses were from a chat bot. It's not airbnb! <br/>When i asked for check in instructions, the chat bot said they would follow a few days before arrival and i was asking this the day before! When i said i was arriving tomorrow it then replied it was looking forward to our arrival. A call to the friendly Philippine call center quickly fixed things though.

Fantastic location and accommodation, we would definitely stay again. Only slight draw back was a narrow entrance to the front door when using a pram, but we managed and the accommodation had everything we needed!

Great location. Nicely furnished property and comfortable beds. Clean light and bright.<br/><br/>We felt that for 6 people the amount of crockery and cutlery was too small. Only 8 plates/bowls etc so when cooking continually having to wash up etc. Not enough large serving dishes and no serving spoons.<br/><br/>There was a drainage smell in the main bathroom.

We had a fantastic stay at 2 The Mount & the property was beautiful & as described a luxury experience. Absolutely loved the wooden beams in the living space. Superb location, everything within walking distance. <br/>We initially struggled to find the carparking spot from the Google maps link which takes you via Cliff St & some very narrow, awkward roads. Whereas it would have been easier & more direct if it sent you via Khyber pass and East Crescent & via Upgang Lane & Crescent Avenue.

High spec and done to a high standard.<br/>Spacious.<br/>Good heating controls.<br/>French doors that open in the living room, can hear the sea.<br/>Good range of kitchen equipment and utensils.<br/>Perfect location right near the Royal Hotel.<br/>3 toilets.<br/><br/>It seems the world has moved to memory foam mattresses, but we find them too firm and would prefer pocket sprung mattresses.

We had such a great time. Perfect location with lots to do. The place was clean and tidy and lots of space. If we only had one issue I'd say there just wasn't enough toilet roll ?. Between 6 people for 2 nights there was only 4 rolls between us. Other than that it's perfect. Thankyou

Quiet location within easy reach of town centre. It is a beautiful old school house converted into 3 or 4 properties that appear to be recently modernised and has its own dedicated parking space.<br/><br/>Our en suite was a bit cramped and we struggled to fit the towels on the radiator. The shower cubicle has no shelf to hold shampoo etc. Our friend's had a little trouble releasing the plug in their hand basin. <br/>The coat hanger as you enter the front door does not do the property justice. Unlike everything else in the property, it is cheap and nasty and needs replacing with something that reflects the high quality of the rest of the house.

A beautiful cottage to stay in located on Khyber Pass so within the heart of Whitby. Great facilities within the property and spotless. Communication by Host & Stay was excellent, no problems at all. Our 2nd stay in Whitby now with Host & Stay, both properties great and no issues at either stay.

Lovely place done up to a very high standard. An ideal place. I went with 3 kids and they were all super happy. The bedroom in the basement was ideal too with an en suite and it was very cosy. Pleasant stay all round. And good coming with a car parking space.

The location was ideal. Spotlessly clean . Decor and facilities were excellent. Lots of little finishing touches made the stay really comfortable ie. Tea, coffee, sugar, milk, shower gel, soap on arrival made it easier until we could get to a shop. A parking space was provided. Good value for money.<br/><br/>Nothing

Amazing accommodation, photos don’t do this property justice. Huge lounge, blue sky through the dormer windows makes it lovely and airy, lovely bedrooms. Bit noisy from walkers up cliff street as bedrooms are on ground floor. Everything is newly fitted and installed. Having the forthcoming connection to the dedicated EV parking spot will really add further to this properties appeal. Would definitely be staying again.

Excellent accommodation, finished to a high standard but......<br/><br/>Terrestrial TV not working (no signal)<br/>No privacy on first floor (no blinds)<br/>No Internet connection as the instructions did not arrive until after we left.
