Had a lovely stay whilst visiting York Christmas markets. Great location - enough pubs/restaurants in driving distance for eating out. All you needed is ready and waiting.

Our group of six had a great stay at Gardener's Cottage this weekend. It was the most central place for our visit to Harrogate and York. We had an issue at the beginning as neither Waze or Google maps could take us to the right location. It was dark at night, but it took us to the middle of nowhere. Luckily we managed to find it by accident. So should anyone arrive by night and miss the sign for the "Walled Gardens" - you can use the What3Words - crows banter bits The house was lovely with a great kitchen and comfy beds. If you want to use the log fire in the living room, you'll probably need to forage for kindling outside as none is provided. However there are a wealth of large logs to keep the fire alive once its started. Those niggles aside, we had a great stay over. The bathroom is great with a massive walk-in shower and the grounds are beautiful - especially for the crisp winter morning. A great stay which we would happily do again!

Really lovely cottage in a lovely setting which was in the perfect location for us. Only negative was that no kindling is provided, making it impossible to light the log burner.

Beautifully located in a quiet and charming place. There you can really rest and relax. I used it twice and it was always clean, everything was prepared to the highest standard. I hope to come back to it and I highly recommend it to everyone.

Pictures don’t do this property justice. Beautiful little cottage and nice garden space to go with it. Some of the girls (and men) got a little scarred by all the spiders and some Webs around the ground floor of the cottage.

We had a great weekend stay at Gardeners Cottage. Lovely house and grounds. Modern interior and kitchen was well equipped. The house was easy to find and access. There was 6 of us that stayed, and we found it the perfect size for us. Bathroom was clean, massive shower and bedrooms were all decent size too. The only thing we would of liked extra is a table/something where we could of all eaten outside in the garden as it was nice and sunny while we stayed. Communication from the host was often (maybe slightly bit too much) as I was already aware of checkout time for the next day so didn't need the reminders, however others may not so that's not necessarily a bad thing just personal preference. Overall would definitely stay here again and would recommend to anyone!! Thank you for a lovely stay!

This is an excellent little find! From the moment we booked, to the moment we left, it was brilliant. The host was very responsive to my numerous questions. We were a group of 3 humans and 4 dogs and there was plenty of space for all of us - if there was one negative it's that the living room could do with a big comfy armchair to go with the sofa - but everything else about this cottage is perfect. The garden is secure so the dogs could play outside without us worrying about them disappearing. The kitchen and bathroom were clean and well stocked. The location is great - we were well placed to go to Whitby one day and then into the Nidderdale park another day. There are also a couple of lovely local walks from the cottage itself - perfect for an evening stroll. We will definitely be visiting again!

Perfect setting - peaceful and beautiful surroundings. There is lots to do around the area and all within driving distance. The Oak Tree meals were delicious too! Beds were very comfy - best night sleep I’ve had in a long time!

The owners thought of everything ,however, the cleaning left lots to be desired. Cottage you expect spiders, but we found really old cobwebs and the logs in the fireplace were scruffy. We had to fix the garden room table, as screws needed tightened, as did the chairs in the living room, the cushions needed a good wash and the cottage sleeps 6 people, we only had 3 folks. The cottage is beautiful, the gardens and surrounding areas are beautiful, the attention to detail from the company, baring in mind we paid £90 cleaning bill for 3 night, was poor.

Very spacious and clean, and well equipped kitchen. Newly renovated house with nice spaces to hang out, with both a dinner table and a sofa. Situated in a lovely village. We had an excellent dinner at the Old Oak, in walking distance from the house. Also lovely in this chilly spring with a functioning fireplace and firewood in the living room. The hosts were very helpful and accommodating. The beds were comfortable, but there were no mattress toppers on the double beds upstairs, which would make them even better. Also, a washing machine would have been great!

Great stay the place was lovely. The house and gardens were lovely, beds were comfy and the house was clean and warm. The log burner was a great addition and the kids enjoyed helping me set the kindling to get the fire going all in all we had a lovely stay. My only niggle which I have to admit was minor and a bit picky was that the sofa in the living room was too small. For a house that can fit up to 6 people the sofa can barely fit 3 so we had to take it in turns to sit at the dining table on the evening.

Great place to stay, quiet and peaceful. Nice restaurant/ pub up the road. Only fault I found was the seating. For a place that takes 6 people the sofa sits 2 hard to relax in the evening perched on dining tables chairs. Other than that it was a lovely place to stay.

Beautiful cottage. So warm and cosy-we loved the woodburner. Only slight niggle was that icon on accommodation description showed a washing machine, but there wasn't one. Would definitely recommend

Nice, renovated cottage with lots of the original elements preserved. There is one bathroom with a shower but two toilet though. All the amenities and essentials were there. The kitchen was new and nicely done. The house warmed up well too. The heating is on oil maybe as when it was turned it on (in the toilet downstairs) gave off a very strong unpleasant smell. The house was generally clean but the toilet downstairs hadn't been cleaned. I also found a piece of bacon in the oven, so I suppose that wasn't checked either. Everything else (towels, linens, upstairs bathroom etc) in the house was nice and clean though. The house is also a bit closer to the road than we thought so if you're a light sleeper the traffic might wake you up. The agency didn't reply to me on Airbnb so I had to call them to get more info about the damage waiver (extra £25). The wifi password in the house was wrong, but it's correct on the website they provided (note in advance as there may be no phone signal).

Straight from booking the communication was great with a full guidebook sent closer to the booking. On arrival easy to find, easy access and once we were in we were blown away! The cottage is beautiful, the pictures don’t do it justice! It was amazing! Clean, spacious and great for a short break! Private and out of the way with beautiful views. Kitchen has all amenities, log fire in the lounge is perfect for the cold weather and a lovely feel. Beds were very comfortable. Perfect location as we went into York and went to the polar express! The pub recommended was perfect, close distance and the staff were lovely! Great communication during and after the stay. Perfect for a weekend away with everything needed!

Five of us stayed extremely comfortably at Gardeners Cottage, in a beautiful and quiet rural area with great views over the countryside. There were plenty of good walks (we went into the Howardian hills) and we enjoyed visiting the fresh bakery van in Helperby on Saturday morning after a very friendly Park Run in Easingwold! We would be very happy to stay again in future.

The house is clean and in good decorative order. The surroundings are delightful, quiet with nice walks and outside a pretty village. The beds were comfy. The kitchen was clean and tidy but for 6 people a small fridge and we missed having a washing machine. Also when we arrived the interior password did not work. It turned out to have been incorrectly spelled, but we worked it out, despite a phone call to Host and Stay. The sitting room area only had a small sofa, no other comfy seating so for 6 people not ideal.

The house is in a beautiful private location on the edge of a small village. The property was very well equipped and had facilties above those in the description, it was a lovely surprise to find a large shower in the bathroom when we were only expecting a bath. A lovely property in a pretty location.

The cottage was really nice. Beautiful, clean and spacious. Warm with the heating on. We had a ladybird infestation in the bathroom which would be a concern if we had allergies. Host and stay were quick with answering any questions. However they do bombard you with large walls of texts with copy paste reminders pretty much every day before your stay and until you pay the damage deposit. All in all we had a great stay at the cottage and would recommend the stay.

Beautiful property in a gorgoeus location. Chose this property for its proximity to a wedding we were going to. Easy parking, easy access to keys via keysafe, provided towels, hairdryer and milk tea and coffee. Great value for money.

Lovely house, it was as per the description and everything we needed was provided including soaps in the bathrooms. The bedrooms are a good size, it has a lovely wrap around garden and was convenient to have private parking. The communication from the hosts was really good. We would definitely recommend staying here.

Lovely house in fab location. Very tastefully decorated. It was spotlessly clean and well equipped. Lovely garden area with summer house and nice little court yard to sit in. It was great to have the place to ourselves.. Good information from Host and stay re booking and our stay. The accommodation did not have enough seating in the lounge for the 5 adults staying there. There was only one settee, which meant some of us had to sit on dining chairs all evening which wasn’t very comfy. Can’t fault the rest of the house. The place would be perfect if it had another settee.

Loved the location and the garden’s good facilities. Found that it lacked storage could do with a chest of drawer’s and wardrobe. Bed in the downstairs room would like it to have been a proper double. Instead of a fold down
