Location good

More pans and crockery needed.Only one small pan full of rust, could not use.
Cutlery holder for dishwasher too big.
Overflowing bins outside and extra rubbish left in the yard.

House was great but let down by missing hand and tea towels, poor communication to resolve this and bin bags of rubbish outside from previous guests so unable to sit out in the garden.
More bins, mirrors, tea towels & necessities needed

Excellent location.
Spacious property with all mod cons. Delighted it was dog friendly.
Very clean.

Small loo needs attention, didn’t flush and with a family of 7, the second loo is important!
Parking was challenging.
Lots of building work going on behind the house and next door, so was overlooked and noisy, which I know is beyond the owners control.

Very comfortable and spacious house in a great location. Very clean. Great facilities with washing machine and ninja air fryer. Secure back yard for our dog. Lovely town with a nice beach and adequate shops. Beds were comfortable. Would definitely stay here again. Loved exploring Yorkshire and this was the perfect base.

The parking was tricky but we did always find a space eventually, within a couple of streets. Sometimes could park right outside the house, sometimes not.

This is a superbly fitted out property with almost everything that you could possibly want. It is handily situated for central Filey and only a few minutes walk to an excellent Tesco supermarket. The icing on the cake was the free parking on Cromwell Avenue - in our case right outside the door.

Not much at all. The seperate loo wouldn't flush, but a quick phone call and a very nice maintenance man arrived within the day and fixed it - he went one stage further and told us that he was on call the next day (Saturday) if we had further problems. I was a little shocked to have to pay the total cost of our accommodation 2 months and 13 days before our stay. The 25% deposit was taken on 15th. May, but the balance was taken on 18th. May. 3 days later. That put us in the crazy situation where we had paid 100% of the booking 74 days before our booking, but could cancel with 100% refund up to 5 days before our stay. Finally, we had to pay a £250 deposit (refundable) or a non-refundable £25 damage waiver. I didn't mind this too much and Host & Stay explained it all in an email after my booking, but had I known the above (not about the loo obviously) it would have certainly make me more careful about looking at booking conditions in the future. Sorry, this seems like a lot, but it isn't - the property is superb and I would definately book it again.

Fantastic stay at 10 Cromwell Avenue. Fabulous location, perfect for our young family. The house is spacious and well kitted out. A couple of little issues that were dealt with quickly and professionally. A wonderful stay, we will be staying again.

Spacious clean and comfortable

Lack of mirrors
No back garden

The house was spacious with a good layout. Clean bedding and towels. A bathroom & separate toilet was helpful. Kitchen facilities were very good. It was close to the beach and places to eat.

The parking was horrendous on such a narrow busy street. Inside the house was very dull with not a lot of natural light. Although it was generally clean there were a lot of cobwebs and dust under the tv stands. The heating was a little difficult to figure out and with my 80 year old dad staying with us, we did need to warm the house up in the evening as we were back early and didn’t have the best weather.

Property is very spacious nice small yard. Lounge well presented. Clean towels available in all rooms.

Shower is full of black mould needs cleaning thoroughly or re grouting. Cooking facilities hot plate and pans, the pans were really cheap, burnt bottoms. The plates and pans in the cupboards had left over food on them when we took them out everything’s had to be washed before we could use them. Carpet in dining room was full of crumbs and there was a pair of ladies glasses and a charger in the lounge so this had obviously not been cleaned thoroughly.

A lovely, clean and spacious house and great location (shame about the parking but we understand completely how that can't be helped).
We weren't happy with the £250 damage deposit, that also has a £10 admin charge! Hopefully Host & Stay will find a better, guest friendly, business alternative to this in future.
Having said that, we had a great stay!
