The house is really lovely, particularly the upstairs, the bedrooms and bathrooms.
However:
• the bifold door key to the ‘garden’ was already broken on our arrival - after phone calls and emails no replacement was given (despite the fact that there is a key cutting business in Seahouses)
• The 3 outside bins and two black sacks of rubbish on top of the boiler outside the back door (to the enjoyment of visiting seagulls) had not been emptied before our arrival
• The water in the hot tap of the second shower was very hot but to cool it down using the cold tap meant even hotter water - scalding hot at times!
• only one TV remote control upstairs so it has to be shared between the two bedrooms
• only one loo roll provided in each of the loos (for four people for four days!)
• the parking situation is a free for all. All the houses, including No 12, have No Parking notices on their outside walls but the street is an unadopted road, not private, and the signs are generally ignored!

Property was excellent, clean, had everything we needed and location was great.

Taylor Street is a narrow gravel road with cottages on both sides. There is not enough space for all the vehicles to park.
A tiny space was left for our large hire car so we had to take someone else's space, felt bad. None of the nearby streets had parking either.
The garden is FULL of weeds. If I had stayed an extra day I would love to be able to tidy it up.

False advertisement by the host!!
Advert said travel cot was available, I also checked with host 3 days prior to check in date to confirm there was a travel cot - which they confirmed there was.
Arrived at the property could not find the travel cot spoke to host company on the phone who said they would sort it out and contact house keeping. Advisor on the phone lied to me and said a cot was located and will be sorted. After waiting a while longer and no further update I contacted them again to assure me that they had located one. 15 minutes after this phone call the advisor told me they had in fact not found a cot and that we would not be receiving one throughout our stay. This was 6pm they told us this my 8 month old baby had to stay in our double bed with my wife whilst I slept on the sofa downstairs which wasn’t a problem the problem was my wife not sleeping most of the night in case our baby fell off the bed. The next day I had to drive over 40 miles to an Argos to buy a cot.

Exactly like the photos. Parking an issue, we were fortunate most of our except last night where we had to find somewhere else to park. Great location, ideal place to explore the area.

Loved the location and the sensitive modernisation of an old property. Lovely and clean.

The stairs were narrow and twisted and for an oldy like me carpet would have helped. Impressive table in middle of lounge but too far from seating to be useful. Kitchen lacked a few items to help clean such as a sink brush.
Car parking at front of property was difficult. Would it be possible to make parking available in back yard?
Back yard could do with comfy chairs.

Warm, comfortable, attractive. Close to all local amenities and shops,

We all loved the property. There is designated parking for one car, however there is a large car park within a 2 minute walk.

Excellent property, better than pictures. Very good location
Only slight issue is narrowness of streets around property which makes using a car interesting if there are other cars or it's bin day

I stayed here with my toddler and we had a great time, house is clean, beautifully decorated and well equipped.

The managing company however are a bit tight on kitchen roll, dishwasher tablets etc so I recommend bringing your own.

Only negative is parking, mainly because the people next door kept parking over our allocated space but it is very tight in the street in general.

Helen

Perfect location, beds so comfortable, house lovely & clean, very spacious, had everything you needed, house lovely & warm too.

The parking outside is a bit limited as you share it with the rest of the street.

Loved the modern interior, very nice interior design, lots of pots pans etc. Location was good but down a very narrow street. Parking a nightmare

Parking
Although overall very clean on first inspection, toilets were dirty below water line and on toilet seats

Nice house with everything you need

Issues prior to travel in relation to non-refundable damage waivers - notice this was raised by a previous traveller but had not been resolved when we booked - information from booking.com differs to that from host and stay - coupled with multiple messages about check out and additional charges on day prior to leaving - ok we get it, it’s a business but it’s also our holiday ?

Great house in great location for exploring Northumberland.

The communication/ listing was a bit confusing, it looked like from the photos there was only one property, but there was actually two next door each other - it wasn’t made clear which one was actually being booked. Small thing but the heating wasn’t on a timer so was very cold in evening and early morning.

Lauren

01/03/2024

Beautiful house, perfectly located for us. Beds were extremely comfy.

Minor things, which make it 9/10 instead of 10/10 - only one dishwasher tablet was left (but 3 washing machine tablets!), no hand soap or hand towels in the downstairs loo or kitchen, empty salt, check out is 10am to leave the key in a lock box on a Sunday. The cleaning fee seems expensive for a two night stay, and the additional charge for accidental breakage/ insurance is not clear prior to booking (only once booked)

This was our second visit to this gorgeous house. We were keen to return as we had a fabulous stay in August this year. Unfortunately when we arrived on the Friday evening at 7pm there was no heating on and the temperature inside the house was 9 degrees. We tried to turn the heating on to no avail. We then rang Host and Stay to inform them and ask for advice. We left two answer phone messages for them however we received no call back at all.
We managed to get the heating on after an hour however it was too cold for us to stay in the house so we had to go out to a restaurant to get warm.
After leaving the heating on all night it was still only 15 degrees on the Saturday morning and it took til 5pm that day for the house to warm up to a comfortable 18 degrees.
We feel that it is unacceptable that the heating was not on for our arrival and this spoiled our enjoyment of our weekend away in this lovely house. (Looking at the Smart Meter the heating had not been on all week )

Oh my goodness! It was so great- we live in a very old farmhouse so to go and stay in a beautiful contemporary house was such a treat- our son is studying architecture and couldn’t believe the amazing use of space. Thank you for a fabulous stay xx

Nicola

19/11/2023

The house itself was nicely decorated, spacious and had everything we needed.

Unfortunately, we had no hot water and no heating for the whole of our stay. Host and Stay were slow to respond to our requests for help and hard to get hold of. In fact, the communication from the agency was appalling. We spent most of our stay trying to fix the problem ourselves, watching YouTube videos to learn about oil heating and thermostats rather than relaxing. We were freezing the whole time. Spent all evening rugged up in our coats and scarves. It was not a relaxing stay and we were most frustrated at the lack of communication from Host and Stay. It took them 2 and a half hours to respond to tell me that they were even trying to contact an electrician. This left us hanging thinking they were doing nothing, which they may as well have been. It was most disappointing and not how we had planned to spend our evening in Seahouses.

Great property, the thought & care in the design & furniture is evident. It had everything we could need as a young family.
Parking is quite difficult (we have a big car though!)
Location is perfect & easily walkable for all sights within seahouses.

Our stay was absolutely perfect - what an amazing place - first class accommodation 5 Star Plus very contemporary - everything was available - location was perfect to explore our surroundings also the Fantastic Northumberland- of all the Airbnb’s I have stayed in world wide this was by far “Simply the Best”
Well done
Thanks Mark

We had no hot water for the majority of the stay. We couldn’t check in until after 4pm on the Saturday and had to check out by 10am on the Monday. We FINALLY got some hot water at around 8pm the night before we checked out.
I spent most of my weekend phoning & emailing and just being told to find the boiler in the house and reset it myself!!
I repeatedly told them there was NO boiler in the house, only a control switch and that it was flashing a fault!!
No-one from Stay phoned me back apart from on the last occasion after I had to lose my temper (which I was annoyed about too as it was my birthday that day!).
The final insult is that AirB&B don’t look at the length of stay just how many nights were impacted (not days). We paid £617 for 2 nights (42hours) and we’re only given £83 back as a refund.
I have waited nearly 2 weeks before writing this review as I feel it is I my fair to give someone the chance to make it right and they have not bothered.
Beware!!!!

Nicola

31/07/2023

Excellent location, beautifully furnished and decorated, bathroom was stunning, spacious large rooms, lovely garden area, every appliance/utensil you needed in the kitchen

Very narrow road to access the property. Needed a washing line in the garden, more hooks for towels in bathroom, bedrooms need blackout blinds

Jane

Great location and nicely decorated house

Tv didn’t work

Kay

23/07/2023

The accomodation was good and suited our needs. Well equiped and clean.

Parking in the street was very difficult. What I really objected was the number of emails I got with the booking and the fact we were charged £10 for placing a £250 deposit for 2 days use. If I had known that I would not have booked as I have NEVER been charged a commision on my deposit anywhere in the world. My husband and I have travelled wordwide in the 53 years we have been married, never had a problem with our deposits and never had a charge like this. I will not use Host and Stay again as they said they could not wave this charge.

Chloé

21/07/2023

Communication after booking and all the way through our stay was excellent.
The accommodation was as described, lovely conversion and very clean. Sofas were massive/super comfortable, kitchen was well equipped and dining area opening out to the garden was lovely. Bedrooms and bathrooms were comfortable and clean. Lots of hot water and great showers. The decorations added a lovely touch to this apartment.
A good area, with the Co-op within easy walking distance, close to the harbour and local pubs too. Lots of lovely walks in the area along the stunning coastline.
We would have no hesitation in booking this property again or recommending it.

We loved it!
Spacious, modern and clean property in a great location. Both bedrooms having en-suites which was perfect for us as 2 couples staying. Smart Tv, Wi-Fi. Nespresso coffee machine, hair dryers. Large comfy sofa. Not far from local attractions that we wanted to visit.

As mentioned before, Parking could be an issue as the property is on a narrow street with limited parking, however, thankfully we managed to park with no problem at all.
2nd bedroom missing TV remote.
Hand towel in downstairs toilet would be good.
But these are just small very minor issues.

Rachel

08/07/2023

Property was well equipped with everything you need for a family. The washing machine was a blessing as we had children with us. We prepared a meal here one night and had everything we needed. The facility was very clean and there was Netflix for the kids.

The only issue was parking. The street was very cramped and everyone on the street had to work together so there was enough parking for all.

Beverley

03/07/2023

The property was bright, light and spacious. A bit like Doctor Who’s tardis Great location, close to the harbour and local facilities. Excellent bathrooms. Well stocked kitchen.

Parking was a little tricky. But we managed. There is a car park not too far away, which seemed reasonably priced.

Julie

01/07/2023

The size of the property was good lovely rooms with high ceilings and tastefully decorated. The bed was extremely comfortable. The property was in walking distance to all the pubs/restaurants in the town.

Parking could have been an issue in busy periods as the street was quite narrow and in summer or at weekends there would have been more cars. We resorted to reversing down so we could get out more easily. I did find the bedroom was very light in the morning which is not an issue for some but I had an eye mask which helped.

We got Cheviot House Priti and was different to the pics on booking.com but it was a lovely house and turned out really well.

Large and well decorated property with all the amenities we needed and finished to a high standard. The whole family loved the place and the neighbors were also friendly.

Nothing to note, just that the pics advertised was different to what we got but I was really impressed with what we ended up with anyway.

Parking is limited in the area, there is space outside the house which we always got but apparently could be taken by others. We didn't have any parking problems though.

04/06/2023

Very spacious and comfortable with everything you need.
Great location right in Seahouses, close to the harbour and coastal footpath.
Parking in Seahouses is a nightmare but there is a space kept in front of the property to park (although be aware that the street is very narrow and larger cars may find it difficult to manœuvre).

Constant reminders (e-mails) to vacate by 10 am. I must have received tens of emails from the property management about this.

I have stayed in many air bnbs in the past & this was definitely one of the best so far. The host was really helpful with a really good guide book to review & were very quick to respond to any queries. The place was easy to find thanks to the easy instructions & the place was gorgeous. Really fresh modern decor with no expense spared from a gigantic couch that I didnt want to get up from to all the best mod cons (like the oven that had about 10 different baking options). I would highly recommend staying here.

Excellent location 5 minutes from local restaurants and pubs. Accommodation was very tastefully renovated and had all the amenities required.

Limited parking, didn't cause us any issue but possibly difficult at busier times. There was a vase of dead flowers left on the dining table however the rest of the house was immaculately clean.

a really lovely little pad for a family get away. comfortable, clean, quiet and cosy.

however I think a few improvements could be made in what was provided - for example one dishwasher tablet and one toilet roll per bathroom for a 4 day stay, meant we had to go to the shop and top up.

however that is the only disappointment - we would be happy to stay again. thank you for a great week!
