Myself and my family were staying in Whitby for my nieces Christening and needed somewhere we could all stay. This cottage is perfect - the location is incredible and brilliant value for the middle of Whitby. Hosts were 10/10. Cannot fault our stay at all!

Great location, lovely spacious house and had all the amenities you would need. However, they requested we pay them an extra £25 non-refundable deposit outside of Airbnb and if we didn't pay the extra £25, we would forfeit the house. This is very scammy behaviour, coupled with their weird AI chat responses made us feel a bit cheated. A real shame as the house was otherwise perfect in a fab location, just a few minutes walk from the old town and beaches.

The house was clean and tidy. Not far from the centre of Whitby. Catered for 5 adults easily. Also had a starter pack with tea, Coffee, sugar and cleaning products.

No parking near the property. Although we did find space on the road not far away. The wifi was very poor but as we were there as a family this did not bother us too much.

The house is in a good location near to the centre of Whitby with lots nearby. Decor throughout the house was lovely and modern. However, the cleanliness of the house was not good. Simple things that you’d expect to be clean like the bathroom and kitchen were not. The toilet seat was hanging off, shower had hairs in and the window had toothpaste all over it. The trays in the oven were thick with grease and glasses and plates were dirty. Picture frames, lamp shades and blinds were dusty. There was also a strange smell throughout the house. The properly needs some serious TLC.

Blue Sky cottage was lovely and clean and tastefully decorated. It is close the centre of Whitby (10 min walk) and an ideal base for exploring, but there is a steep hill to walk up coming back. We had an issue when we first arrived which was quickly sorted by host & stay and by the owner of the property. After that we enjoyed our stay but I would say that the bed in the front bedroom is very uncomfortable and really could do with a new mattress - I could feel every spring!

Home was spacious and close for walking to into Whitby centre.
Checkin was very easy and Charlie gave clear instructions.

Easy to find the house and easy to get in using the instructions provided. The house was beautifully decorated and had everything you would need. Bedrooms were really nice with amazing mattresses which meant everyone slept really well. Area was quiet although parking is a bit of a nightmare - had to park 10 mins away but the hosts had told us that parking can be an issue so it wasn't unexpected. The house is well located with a short walk into Whitby. The hill is pretty steep on the way back if you have older guests or young children. Only issue was that the Wi-Fi password provided both by the hosts and in the property was incorrect. I contacted the host and they responded immediately but were unable to fix it. I eventually sorted it out myself. Would highly recommend this property and would definitely visit again.

Good location and decent sized rooms.

Internet didn’t work.
Property was dirty.
Rubbish from previous tenants still there.
Charged unexpected deposit fees ONTOP of price on booking.com
Even when contacting regarding the state of the property and issues, no resolution.
Held off leaving a review till OVER A MONTH after my stay to see if I would receive any of the compensation they promised me. It has now almost been 2 months and not a penny my direction.

DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Distinctive smell of cat pee. Stains on rug, Hair on base of toilet. Dusty windowsills. Wallpaper peeling off bathroom ceiling.
No hand soap anywhere. No kitchen spray to wipe surfaces. A dribble of fairy liquid to wash up with.
ill fitting loose toilet seat. Back yard needs sorting out.
I could go on and on.

The room was very nice, spacious and bright. Ten minutes walk to Whitby harbour. There is a big hill on the road to arrive the house though which makes it a bit of a struggle to walk up. The kitchen was well equipped inside and there was a dishwasher, so it was easy to use and you didn't have to worry about washing the dishes after cooking!

Nice area

First and foremost you have to deal with the smell of Cat Pee, the smell is horrendous so much so that we left a day early because of it. We had to buy a plug in air freshener for each room just to be able to go in them.

This was in early reviews so I assumed it would have been dealt with.

The bathroom smells of pee, the rugs were filthy. There were cobwebs everywhere considering we arrived as the cleaner left it was a bit of a poor effort.

The only reason we stayed was because I knew there would be no chance of getting the money back and it was our holiday.

I understand something's are out of your control but please address the smell as I would definitely not recommend the cottage to anyone.

A very disappointed ex customer.
