The cottage had been renovated to an exceptional high standard, the owners had given real thought to detail and extra touches such as wipe clean walls in the utility and outdoor warm water washing facilities. Other than maybe a waste bin in the bedrooms every want had been catered for, from babies, children, adults right through to furry friends. The cottage was comfortable and spacious and in a great location for exploring Whitby. On street parking close to the cottage was an added bonus. The owners should be proud. Cleanliness was an issue. Attention to detail is required! On arrival we found floors needed sweeping/vacuuming, dog hairs on sofa, dust on skirtings, surfaces and equipment, crumbs and dirt in fridge, freezer and breadbin, dirty filter on dishwasher, dirt and marks to walls and cupboards, several pieces of rubbish, used cotton wool pad, eyelash, hair bobble, hairs in the bed. It wasn't filthy but too many bits missed to make it acceptable. A real shame as this cottage could be a fantastic 5 star accommodation if this was rectified. We did raise the issue immediately and were told it would be re-cleaned the next day but this didn't happen.
