Excellent apartment in an excellent location. Very clean and tidy and good value for money compared to others in the area. We booked through Airbnb but another agency was involved (Host & Stay) with one stating checkout was 10am and the other stating 12pm. Thankfully we were almost ready to leave when the cleaner knocked on the door at exactly 10am. It was just a little rushed for 10 mins whilst the cleaner waited.

The apartment was very nice, however a few issues we reported were not resolved. One hand towel and one toilet roll for 3 guests for a 4 night stay! Grimy grouting in the shower. Minimal crockery and 2 wine glasses. Not sure why you provide coffee pods if there is no coffee machine. A few Christmas decorations would have been a nice touch

Beautiful apartment with beautiful view. no hot water last morning so couldn't use shower.

Lovely apartment and brilliant location. Just far enough away from the centre to enjoy the peace and quiet of the location but within walking distance to all amenities. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend it without hesitation.

Great location in the river.

Lovely location just out of town and so it was quiet. Beautiful location on the river. The property was clean and comfortable. The only thing I’d mention was that the shower was quite slippery and could have done with a non-slip mat. A spare toilet roll would have been useful, too!

Perfect place to stay while visiting Whitby. Delightful to watch the seabirds, and tides. Peaceful and calm. Super tidy yet cosy and quiet. Easy to walk to town, the beach and abbey. Ideal to explore the local area of North Yorkshire National Park.

Lovely views with a Julie balcony. Comfortable sofas and beds. Clean . Good walk in shower and lovely bathroom. 2 good sized bedrooms.

The location and communication from the owners. It's everything you need for a short stay in Whitby. Spring loaded doors were annoying and no blinds in one of the bedrooms which is annoying this time of year. Small probs but worth noting.

Great view over the harbour area, had everything we needed for the weekend. Lots of wildlife to watch out of the Juliette balcony. Some information about checking out was confusing. We left at 10am according to Booking.com info and the Host & Stay info said 12pm. Didn't like the self closing doors. They banged if you let them go. Softer close would be better. Walls are a bit thin. You can hear people in the adjoining apartment.

The property was very clean and well furnished.

Excellent flat, in a great position, with its own parking spot. Some people have commented on the bathroom and hot water, but I think they must have been completely renewed. It's all excellent. The only reason for 4 stars was a slight lingering smell of stale cooking oil in the kitchen/lounge and a few bits of cleaning overlooked. Otherwise, it was perfect. ? Note that the listing did advertise a washing machine and dryer under facilities. However, there aren't any laundry facilities. I think the listing has now been corrected.

This is not hot water on demand as stated. No instruction folder. Leaving time in online info stated 12.00 told 10.00 by text an hour before 10.00. Not good enough unprofessional.

Great place, pleasant walk into the centre of Whitby Would certainly use again

The apartment was freezing on arrival -2 cent outside matched by a similar temperature inside. Has to put 3 duvets on the bed on the first night. NO HOT WATER even using over-ride for the first 12 hours so unable to take a hot bath not even a luke warm one. Once we got over the initial shock we really enjoyed the apartment. *** Would we stay here again during the winter months, certainly not unless the owners bit the bullet and pre heated the property both the rooms and the water***. Would we stay during the summer months without doubt. Just a little forethought would have made all the difference.

Good location within walking distance to the town. Pleasant outlook over the river and moorings towards town. Spacious, well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and sitting area. We managed with the cooker, heating and tv but would have like some instructions on how to use them correctly. They are very different from the appliances that we have at home and step by step instructions would help many guests.

It's obvious that the owners of Shipwrights Eskape have gone to a lot of trouble to make the apartment and warm and welcoming place for visitors. It's in a great location, close to the centre of town and makes a great base for exploring Whitby & North Yorkshire. It's well appointed as a whole; but if you were staying for any length of time, there might be a couple of niggles that might start to annoy you. As a bloke, I tend to ignore instruction books, but there are none for any of the appliances in the kitchen. That became a massive oversight when trying to use the main oven. The oven definitely needs some maintenance or replacing as I discovered when after an hour and a half's operation the oven was barely warm and certainly nowhere near the 200º needed to cook my newly purchased gourmet feast. A bigger waste bin would be useful too. Other slight issues are the underpowered shower and a tired looking toilet seat in the bathroom. Hope they sort all these before my next visit!

The apartment ,the location ,the price, the views There was a towel left for us on entering that had brown marks on it, it looked dirty ? There was an oven to use in the kitchen but no oven gloves so I had to use a towel to get the tray out of the oven, or is that what happened to the towel that was left for us after the previous occupants?

This is a lovely apartment in a great location, we reckon sn essy fifteen minute's walk into town. Wery well appointed and comfortable, there were teo of us but would easily acomodate four We did feel however that t bathroom needed some attention the heated towel rail didn't work and the cistern sd sometimes intermittent in filling up after a flush. The little unit was also a bit rickety, this room not up to the standard of the rest of the flat. Having said that we wouldn't hesitate in visiting again, we had a lovely stay in Whitby.

Why did you say you didnt allow mobility scooters in the building? This spoilt our holiday. If we had known before, perhaps there was a small space in the covered parking area that we could use. I would appreciate some feedback on this. We have visited your apartments twice now but this would stop us returning. Also difficult when you first arrive after a long drive to easily work the television. Clear instructions would be helpful . Also wifi password needs to be clearer, easy to misread - again difficult after a long drive.

It is a lovely modern apartment with all necessary facilities and designated onsite parking. It was clean and well presented. The apartment also has a wonderful view of the harbour through the double opened bay windows/doors.

Lovely place ten mins walk to the bridge in Whitby. Couldn’t work cooker as no instructions also no hot water ?

Fabulous location within a 10 minute walk to Whitby centre. Car parking space very welcome & the view of the river was fantastic.

Access was made easy with information sent through email. Rooms were clean and expansive, kitchen well equipped. Beds were comfortable and both bedrooms had walk in wardrobes. Louie area was very comfortable. Really great apartment, would happily book again. Nothing not to like.

Lovely apartment, well located with great views. Clean and comfortable. The artwork on the walls was beautiful. Disappointing that the twin was set up as a double which meant the kids had to share a bed on the first night. Swiftly rectified on day 2 though and the staff member on duty on day 1 was as helpful as possible.

Lovely, well equipped apartment and location was fantastic. The parking was a great bonus. The views from the apartment are fantastic. Watching the steam train and the rowers practising on an evening. The apartment had a smell of fish in the living room. We did aort this out it waa the bin that had not been washed out. The main bedroom had a strong smell of dogs. It was like walking into a veterinary practice.

The apartment was perfect for a family of 4 with a great view over the river. It was ideally situated within walking distance of the town and beach. The immediate area was safe and quiet with the added bonus of a reserved parking space directly outside. Nothing to dislike with the only slight issue being that the beds in the larger room were not set up as 2 singles as expected.

La casa è spaziosa, i letti grandi, ben attrezzata la cucina, anche se alcuni ingredienti sembravano vecchi. La pulizia non era il massimo, vetri molto sporchi e briciole sotto i divani. Il TV ci mette una vita ad accendersi. Niente ventilazione in bagno.

The location of the appartment was on the second floor with lift or stairs in an extremely well kept appartment block possitioned overlooking the river .It is loccated on quiet recently built estate of appartments Nothing .It was a perfect holiday

First and foremost the location was absolutely perfect which included private off street parking.The property itself was way above expectations with a reasonable check in time (4.00pm)and an excellent checkout(12.00) which allows you to have a morning enjoying Whitby and not having to move your car.The centre of Whitby is only a 10 minute walk. As we are keen walkers the location is perfect for doing The Cleveland way or into The North Yorkshire Moors. To be perfectly honest there is nothing in this instance that we didn't like unless you start a "nit picking"contest that some people seem to absolutely revel in with reviews I have personally read.

Great little apartment in a fantastic location. Fully equipped with everything you could need. One bit of advice is to clarify the bedroom situation ie single beds/king size before you travel.

Perfect location, beautiful views over the river, we could even see the abbey on the headland TV controls confused me, maybe it's an age thing ?

We liked the location and the view. On arrival we discovered the key was not inside the box. After a phone call it was discovered that the cleaner was still getting the apartment ready and we were told we could go up to the room and she would let us in. We knocked on the door but she didn't know about our arrival so we were left on the landing till 4.50pm ( we arrived just after 4pm)

Great apartment quiet location within easy walking distance to town. Bed not very comfortable hard mattress other wise great.

The accommodation was comfortable and modern with excellent facilities and was in a good location with a allocated parking space. There was an issue with the check in time.On the emails I received it said 16.00 . We arrived at 16.05 and the cleaner was still there and she was led to believe it was 17.00.

it's opened Squeeking doors need the chains oiling that automatically shut the door after could do with a chair in one of the bedrooms that didn't have one a bath mat would be useful .

Fantastic flat in a great location. Loved the views out of the window and even got to do some seal spotting. Furnishings were lovely, beds were really big and comfortable. Great to have a parking space so close to town. Flat had everything we could need.

This is a really fab apartment, just outside of the busy town but just a hop and a skip to where all the action is. The property was very clean and is probably the most well equipped holiday let we have stayed in. Great views from the Juliet balcony and all the rooms are very spacious with a lot of storage space. Will definitely stay again if back in Whitby!
