Good stay, central location and parking nearby.

Second time we have stayed here. Great location . Great view . And overall a great place to stay . A lot of steps to the apartment. Patio doors were very dirty . Toilet wasn’t cleaned . But I’m putting this down to being out of season.

Great location in Whitby. Lovely to have the big windows in the kitchen area.The apartment makes a good base for a couple of days away. The accommodation is on the 3rd floor of a narrow and quite steep staircase. Not great when carrying bags up and down. Our main issue with this property was the extra money we were expected to pay in the form of a damage waiver. A week before travel, we were given the choice of a £25 non refundable waiver or handing over £200 (£190 of which would be returned up to 2 weeks after the visit). We couldn't afford £200, so basically had to pay another £25 on top of the original cost. I have booked many times with Booking. com and NEVER had this kind of extra payment added on. The late addition of this payment left a bit of a bitter taste and I will never book a Host and Stay property again - I could have booked another property in the same area without this extra, last minute payment. Communication from Host and Stay was also not good. Overall pretty poor service from them

Lovely apartment, shame it wasn't clean. The host was really friendly and the guidebook they sent us was really helpful. It's a wonderful apartment, in a great location with stunning views, but unfortunately it wasn't clean. The kitchen floor was covered in crumbs and clearly hadn't been hoovered or swept. The shower had hair in it and the toilet had skid marks in it. In general, the bathroom needs a deep clean. The sink and shower are covered with old dirt and the grouting in the tiles needs a good scrub with a toothbrush. If it had been clean, I'd be giving 5 stars but when you can't even be bothered to clean the toilet properly then unfortunately I can't rate it highly.

Very central location - easy to get to things. Good size rooms etc Very pleased overall. Stairs up to higher floors are steep if you have an elderly person or someone with walking issues - take your time

Apartment was lovely although when entering the building and heading to the apartment the staircase and entrance were dirty and in need of a clean. The apartment didn’t have coffee milk or toiletries which I know some places don’t but for what we paid I thought they would off overall lovely place with great view

Location and nice rooms. Near to centre For a 2 night stay the deposit was more than the room. £250 Which takes 2 weeks to get returned. If you are a person who needs that money which some couple might need this is not good.. also they take £10 off on return of receipt.. Don't think I'd go back.

The kitchen and views from the flat were stunning as it's on the 3rd floor I called host and stay about parking as we had a disabled person with us who couldn't walk far. We had been told to park in a pay and display car park as they don't give permits for on street parking. No permit to even unload bags! They failed to tell us the Whitby tourist office can give you them but we found out ourselves so it only cost £8 per day instead of £24. If not it would have been an issue. The staff should get training about this. No living room as advertised on booking.com When I received the details from host and stay that confirmed this. It's really a 1 bed flat that has been made into a 2 bedroom. Windows on one of the bedroom doors which had no blind for privacy. Not an issue for a short stay but wouldn't stay longer. The other issue is The windows are filthy with bird poo as is the front door so you need to wash your hands after opening it. The cheap plastic blinds on the windows need to be black out blinds as they don't stop light coming in

Place was very well furnished, very central to everything and ideal for a short stay I'm still waiting to hear back about something I did raise over weekend, left a message as wasn't urgent. We had a leak from upstairs into one of the bedrooms

Very poor cleanliness in kitchen crumbs all over table and food on the floor entrance to property covered in pigeon shit Also not impressed having to pay £25 insurance which wasn't mentioned when booking.as a landlord myself to several properties the insurance I have covers all aspects of letting I feel very ripped off to be honest and definitely won't be booking with you again

Great location. Located centre of whitby, near all attractions. The communication with the host was smooth at all times. Apartment was clean and modern. Rooms and beds were spacious, with tellies in each room including kitchen. Apartment is located in third floor, it will be difficult for people with health problems.

BEWARE SCAM. Host has hidden conditions to pay compulsory insurance of £25 or £200 deposit. This is normally not allowed with AirBnB but they avoid this by setting up an external website. AVOID NOT BE RIPPED OFF. Also property itself is not particularly brilliant. It located on a side street which is infested by sea gull and pigeons so expect no sleep and bring an umbrella for entering the property.

Apartment was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. View from apartment kitchen area was fantastic. Location is perfect to explore Whitby! Host & Stay did not send us arrival details, we had to ring them to ask for the key safe code and details to access the property when we were on our way to Whitby. Host & Stay also did not update their details, as we added an extra night on and stayed three nights instead of two, however we were receiving texts and emails saying we had to leave the following morning of the first nights stay. We had rang twice already to ask them to amend their details, therefore we texted and asked them to update their information. Host & Stay also charged a £9.99 admin fee to add the extra night on to the 2 nights stay and also charged £10.00 admin fee for damage waiver insurance, we think that £20 extra charges on top of what we had already paid for our 2 night stay was a little bit greedy, considering that the property would have been standing empty for the Tuesday evening that we added on. We were not happy with Host & Stay communication at all. There was also some disturbance that seemed to be coming from the apartment below us - adults were arguing, there was some bad language used, on our third night (late) and we heard similar the next morning, however we did not let this bother us.

Really interesting place as regards location and what the place had to offer , only two small negatives firstly after booking I was asked to encounter at extra expense an agreement with a third party insurance company which I really did not like or appreciate , please end this and put the cost on your rental , second gripe was really off putting arrival of a dirty entrance and seagull droppings on the door and entrance which obviously need a more frequent clean than you are giving at present as first impressions are everything , Thanks for a great stay though but unfortunately it all felt a little commercial for my personal liking.

Great location, clean, comfortable and stylishly decorated. Only criticism was the key safe outside was really tricky to get into.

very clean, close to town lovely flat The bed in the big bedroom the mattress uncomfortable you can feel the springs. The smaller bedroom there was a constant drip kept our friends awake. Maybe the drain pipe needs some attention.

Location and spacious. The view was nice. Bedsheets were nice and soft. Main bed needs replacing, this is the worst bed I have ever tried to sleep in. The mattress is lumpy and the bed slats are not even. Oven requires another shelf for cooking and some baking trays would have been nice. Main bedroom also needs some bedside lamps. Could have been cleaner all over. A pigeon deterrent on the windowsill in the 2nd bedroom would prevent the noise in the morning. Mirror also needed in 2nd bedroom.

Shame about the hidden costs! After you have booked - you will get hit for either a non-refundable damage waiver insurance or a non-refundable admin fee if you choose to pay a deposit - it is totally unjustifiable and essentially underhand to tack on unavoidable additional fees after you have booked for an advertised price. This is the sort of practice that gives landlords a bad name. The place itself was well equipped, and in a good location, if a bit grubby. The online instructions are very clear.

Modern, well equipped and centrally located, we loved our stay in this property. Highly recommended.

Flat was amazing. Everything you needed was there. Location was perfect. Only 1 toilet roll. Large mountain bike stored at the bottom of the staircase which made it very difficult to get in and out of the property. Very much a fire hazard if there was an emergency evacuation.

Nice modernised property, lots of stairs, so not suitable for people with disabilities. Close to the harbour and Abbey, pubs and attractions close by. No mattresses or pillow protectors. lots of nasty stains and shower tray had a crack. And first, and first impressions, not great. The stair carpet is dirty with mud and feathers. Because of the stains on the mattress and pillows, I wouldn't stay here again.

Very central Nice view from kitchen .. bedrooms comfortable Wasn’t cleaned to my standard but ok .. doors in kitchen which were glass had bird poo on outside ..on arrival the alley way was full of pigeon droppings and smelly .. the stairs up to the accommodation was not clean with feathers and pidgeon mess from outside alley .. pidgeons also on window ledges outside bedroom so woke us up very early with the noise which went on for quite a while ..

The flat is in a superb location. It is clean and well stocked with essentials, such as crockery, towels and toiletries. The shower was particularly good and the kitchen was the central attraction of the flat. The View is up three flights of stairs which may inconvenience some people, although the view from the kitchen seems worth it. My reason for only scoring 6/10 is the request for taking out a “damage policy” to cover any damage that may be caused during the stay. Whilst I understand the reasoning behind this, I was rather annoyed to be asked this after I had booked. However, I can state that the £250 bond was repaid into my account around 10 days after my return as detailed by the hosting company.

Took a while to find place after finally parking..didnt realise how many steps on staircase were ..i was on top floor .no good if you got astma or other health problems...location brilliant just same you are on a hill so not good if you have mobility problems..also the cleaning wasnt good apartment was very dusty even kitchen floor was dirty ..all four chairs needed cleaning as stained and the beautiful bifolding doors needed cleaning..i also bought my own teatowel and towels as i didnt want to be responsible using the washer dryer using their towels and tea towel..i might have if there had a been some soap powder included as there was tablets included for dish washer ..

Lovely rooms and very clean great location so homely and trendy. Highly recommend and would stay again. Beautiful views and rooms. Nothing anyone can help. Parking was pain at first. The passes came in useful. It was a really bad wk end for rain and had a few leaks around the French doors. 10 am a bit early to leave especially when you can’t check in till 4 pm. Can’t comment or review staff as never met anyone.

It was a lovely property and has everything you need! Only 15 mins walk to Whitby Abbey and the coastal area full of amazing restaurants. The view from the kitchen and dining area was spectacular (you can actually see the steam train arriving at the Whitby station). However, it will take you 14 days to get back the £250 deposit, so be aware of this if finance is an issue for you. Lastly, the property is located on the 3rd floor without an elevator, so you may need a strong man if you've got big luggage.

We found the apartment was nice but definitely has some areas to improve in terms of first impressions. The stairway was unclean, once entering the room the overall cleanliness was good however lack of care on some of the finer details. The shower tray had a large crack in it, the walls had marks and chips in them. The carpet had lots of marks too. We felt if these finer details had been looked at it would have made the space look more presentable. The bed linen and chairs had marks on them too although they were clean. The quality of the mattress was very poor which left us both feeling sore the next day. We did make the decision to leave early due to this issue as I am pregnant and it was very uncomfortable for us both. That being said the location was central and lovely. Shops and restaurants within walking distance and beautiful location of Whitby. Noise levels were not bad considering it being so close to the shops.

Ideally situated. Very clean, and well equipped Nothing about the property. But whilst our stay was enjoyable, we couldn’t check in until 4pm, and there was no option to store luggage. (Our train arrived at noon) so had to take our luggage with us all afternoon. Plus we had to check out by 10am. I paid a £250 damage waiver, (refundable if no damage) however I waited 11 days, before this was refunded! Due to all of these issues, I definitely won’t book this property again

It was close to the main town centre only a 5 minute walk. The view was incredible on a morning watching the sun come up over the sea.

The location is central and access to harbour and town just down the road, the views are stunning well worth the 3 flights of stairs Views and the interior is lovely and well appointed, tv in every room. Duvets are lovely and fluffy

Lovely property in the heart of Whitby

Beautiful apartment in a lovely part of Whitby, the view from the kitchen really is stunning. Beds were large and comfortable and we were overall happy with our stay and would re-visit again in the future. A few minor things , Attention to cleaning detail could have been better, the kitchen floor could’ve done with another hoover/sweep as there was a lot of crumbs under the table near the bin. Considering 4 of us were staying for two nights, 4 tea bags wasn’t enough so it would’ve been nice to of had a few more. For the price paid for the property, we felt check out time should be 11am considering you aren’t allowed to enter the property until 4pm.

Was a little disappointed that there weren't any handwash/shower gel, shampoo and conditioner as there was in a previous host and stay we stayed in. We had to go buy some as we thought it would be the same.

not much the entrance hall was dirty, and is the first impression of the property. there was no soap in the bathroom to wash your hands. It doesn’t make you aware that the apartment is up three steep flights of stairs. There is no living room, you have to watch tv in the kitchen or in bed. the only parking near the property is for an hour. we were very disappointed with our stay.

We liked everything about the property, it was lovely and clean, the beds are very comfy, The location is perfect. My partner struggles with stairs, if I had realised we had 3 floors I would have booked another apartment ? it may be worth letting customers know this.

the location and the decor was modern the walls were very marked and scuffed. there was bird poo all over the front door and all of the windows so not pleasant to look at the views. the mattresses were very poor and could feel springs. there were no spikes on the window cill in the smaller rooms so birds pecking at the window and making noises. cracked shower tray. property not particularly clean and there was heavy rain on our visit which caused leaking from the ceiling in the kitchen which we had to mop up with kitchen towel. also I didn’t appreciate the continuous texts and emails reminding me to vacate the property or there would be further charges!

Property is beautiful, modern bedrooms, bathroom and kitchen. Very clean. We loved the kitchen with the bi-folding door. Coffee pods. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Very good location although up a hill but Whitby can be hilly in places anyway. Parking included a bonus. Our bed in the master bedroom was awful. the mattress/bed was sagging massively in the middle it made it really uncomfortable. The other couple had smaller bedroom and said there's was fine and really comfy but definitely a new bed/mattress needed in master. Wifi code didn't work.

location The main door into the building is covered in bird poo, not hygienic could cause illness (could do with a cover). There are a lot of stains on the carpets inside the property. The bed in the master bedroom has a dip in the middle causing you to both roll into the centre of the bed. My daughter had a very disturbed sleep in the second bedroom due to birds sitting on the window-sil during the night, as there are no spikes on there as there is on other windows.

We had a lovely time staying here in Whitby. The views were stunning and the place was set up so nicely. We especially loved having a tv in both bedrooms. It was very easy to walk to all the main spots including Whitby Abbey, the steps, and all the cute little shops near the pier. We would definitely stay again!

Good location . Very spacious. I could not get the radiators to work. Very tepide at best. I did text though and got a prompt response.

Apartment and the Location was perfect. Just one little thing about the Apartment one of the Bedroom didnt have a Mirror for the Ladys.

Clean and spacious, great facilities and a beautiful view from the kitchen. Perfect location for getting to the beach and all the attractions. The only negative we had was that on arrival and for the next three days, a pile of bin bags was left outside the front door and the front door being covered in pigeon poo! We understand that there isn’t a huge amount you can do about the pigeons but it definitely lets the property down the front door being so dirty - a quick clean would do wonders!

We were able to let ourselves in with the keys from a lock box. Amazing well appointed apartment. Clean and everything you need in the kitchen even coffee and tea had been left for use. The kitchen was lovely for breakfast and dinner with our 3 year old granddaughter. The view was stunning and we happily sat with a glass of wine. Found the apartment easily, but we have been coming to Whitby for 30 years and knew the area well. We will be back it was stunning and we loved it. Thanks The stairs might have been a problem if we had needed a pushchair or had limited mobility. We paid happily for parking in the station, the on street parking zones were hard to define and not near the apartment anyway. Nothing to put us off at all. We loved it.

Location is brilliant. Couldn't be better placed . Great position to access all of witby.And the view from the apartment is beautiful. We all like everything. There was nothing we didn't like.. we've got nothing negative to say about this place. Infact we would highly recommend you stay here. We will definitely be coming back.

The view over Whitby from the kitchen diner is amazing & ideal location just a few minutes walk to the into the centre. Well equipped & comfortable throughout. The stairs but there's not a lot can be done about them. The cleaners in the above apartment we're very noisy, slamming doors a tad too much!

Beautifully decorated and equipped. Stunning view from the kitchen, plus partial seaview from the bigger bedroom. It was noisy (Sat night) with bedroom windows open, so we had to keep them closed. No problem with check in or communication.

Loved the fact that milk was left in the fridge for tea and coffe which was already amazing. View was amazing and it was such a perfect space. Everyone loved it. I can't really fault anything other than the flights of stairs putting us out of breath. But thats mostly a nitpick if anything

It is in a good location not far from shops, restaurants amd pubs. It was very clean and comfortable. The sofa in the largest bedroom partially blocks the doorway. A chest of drawers would be useful for clothes as there is limited hanging space.

The apartment was lovely, clean and well presented It was in a good location and had nice views. Bothe bedrooms were a good size and had sofa's in to make up for the lack of a living room area. The parking is awful - The property provide a parking pass but there are no spaces so I used a pay and display nearby.

Lovely apartment and loved the kitchen view. Spotless clean. Very modern. Bed was massive (2 bedrooms). Bathroom shower was huge (with a sealed crack so took pics). Central, so easy walk back from main street. 3 flights of winding stairs and narrow. 4 tv channels so limited viewing unless you have netfix. Would definitely stay again.

Convenient location, 3 flights of stairs will keep you fit, not a big issue for the able bodied. Run as a business using outsourcing partners. Professional not personal touches. All good as long as that’s what your looking for.

Not very helpful with requesting a later check out. Said it was for cleaning reasons but shouldn’t take 5 hours to clean an apartment of that size when only me and my partner were staying. Also the noise from the above flat was very loud on both mornings of our stay. Sounded like furniture getting moved around. The apartment definitely needs touching up with marks all over the hallway wall and plugs not fully connected to the wall. Other than that the location was perfect.

Lovely place to stay, very clean and beautiful. The view is stunning and the location is excellent. I will say that the parking is difficult, but we ended up paying to park in front of the co-op and it’s not a far walk.

Highly recommend this amazing accommodation. It was sparkly clean which now more than ever is so important. Great amenities...loved the coffee machine! Location was perfect very central and we loved Whitby ?

Couldn’t fault the amenities, cleanliness and comfort of this new apartment. We were just two and it was ideal - four might find it less spacious as there is no sitting room though sofas and TVs in both bedrooms. It is on the third floor so expect some aerobic exercise on the staircase especially moving in and leaving. Scratch card parking a great help though we had a 10 minute walk to our spot each day. There was available disc parking from 7pm - 9am opposite the apartment for those who like an early get away.

A perfect base to explore Whitby. The place is nice, modern and clean, exactly as in the photos, with a lovely view and in a great location.
