Continue along the lively road until you reach the beautiful, blue flag West Cliff Beach which is lined with idyllic beach huts. At the other end of Pier Road, you’ll notice the swing bridge which sits over the River Esk.

Over the bridge, you’ll find yourself on the East bank which is full of narrow medieval streets dotted with boutiques, pubs and even more fish restaurants. Climb the famous 199 steps up to the Church of Saint Mary. You can also discover the renowned ruined Whitby Abbey, which was the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s gothic novel ‘Dracula’.

Step outside of Whitby and you’ll uncover a haven of woodland and moorland. Whitby forms part of the North York Moors National Park so it’s the perfect place for long walks.

We had to wait an hour to get into our property. Then had to pay a further £20 for insurance before we could get the key code
Even though we had paid £25 previously. Host wasn’t responding to messages and Airbnb kept saying they would come back to us and didn’t.
There were stains on the carpet.
And I know this can’t be helped but the seagulls just cried all through the night and we needed the windows open because it was so hot

Enjoyed my stay in Time Out.
it was clean and comfortable.
Parked my car in West Cliff car park and used Ringo to pay for my 4 lots of 24hrs.
Easy to walk to harbour and town. Loads of coffee shops, restaurants and pubs to choose from. I would book Time Out again.

Overall great location, apartment had what was needed to sleep and make meals in. Could do with better cleaning-we ended up cleaning ourselves. Advised with a washing machine-there was no washing machine-we packed lightly due to this being advertised and ended up having to wash clothes in the sink. Other than that great location, and will definitely be coming back to Whitby

Was in a great location comfortable bed and quirky decor
Was clean apart from hob in kitchen

Main door and door to apartment looks run down from outside a coat of paint would help , hob was dirty ,shower pressure very low , very disappointing that stains on living room carpet that were mentioned in a previous review were still there , a light rub by your cleaner would remove these .

Very clean, spacious

Very hard to find????, if the house number was put on the website it would be so much easier, we had to phone up to find it out. Smoke alarm battery was dying so bleeped all the time, was told by staff I could take it out?, very high ceilings, and being only 5ft was a no no, even with a 6ft step ladder( which there wasn’t one)????.

Great location, great parking if you’re lucky to get a spot. Parking passes provided.

Stairs inside up to apartment were dirty and smelly. Carpet in front room was stained and dusty. Sofa wasn’t comfortable. Kitchen could do with a deep clean, inside cupboards had crumbs in. The kettle was full of limescale.

This property was located in the upper part of Whitby, very quiet area , gentle hill walking back but not too much. Close to nice little cafes/coffee shops, a lovely bakery and 3 great pubs very close.

Once we arrived at the flat, there were no problems using the coded key-box to get in. The flat is roomy and has some quirky décor touches. We enjoyed our 5 night stay and would mention the following pros and cons:

Good points: Lots of space. Decent utensils in the kitchen - knives, pans, etc. Good TV. Close to the town centre and beach / harbour. Good bay window that you can sit in for meals or relaxing in a comfy chair.

Bad Points: No washing machine (but there is an iron!). For us, that would have been more useful than the provided dishwasher. We found the mattress was rather thin and not too comfortable and the small metal dining table and chairs were also a bit rickety.
The instructions for dealing with recycling were confusing and could do with being clarified on how to find the correct bins. The front door and flat main door don’t fully open due to obstructions, making it tricky to get luggage in and out of them.

location was good, size of property was good

quite difficult to find , difficult to determine which lock Box was for our property, front door to building didn’t lock , no hot water from the shower for the entire 4 days we were there , constantly hounded by host and stay to complete the damage waiver even though I had already paid the £25 waiver 3 weeks in advance instead of the damage deposit which they state you get back in full when actually £10 is deducted for administration which is not stated before booking then was hounded again about checkout , there was confusion on what time to check out as inside the property it said 12pm and on the multiple messages I received they kept stating it was 10am. also asked them about parking for disabled and they had no information had to find out for myself luckily with my disabled badge I could park on street and there was a space outside the property

Please read the fine pint carefully. The price payed for on Airbnb is not the final price. If you read the very bottom of the “other rules “ section you will be asked by a 3rd party company working on behalf of the owner to charge a £250 pound deposit or a £25 waiver before the booking is accepted. Note also they will not ask for this immediately it will be requested a few days before your due to land. Also there is no parking provided in a disk only location. During high season this will be a big issue.

The apartment does what it says on the tin a great location in the heart of Whitby but not my best Airbnb experience.

The location of this property is brilliant - a short walk from all the sights of Whitby, including the whale bones. The abbey is visible from the end of the row of houses. I was really impressed with the cleanliness and the facilities. This property would be perfect with the addition of a bistro table in the bay window (lose the red chair) so there is somewhere to eat comfortably, and some hooks for coats and towels. Overall, would definitely recommend this place and would stay again.

There was no parking available outside the property, so we had to temporarily block a driveway in order to drop off our stuff. There are 5+ lock boxes outside the property, all with similar names so check the labelling and try multiple lock boxes when entering the code! It turned out to the be the bottom rightmost lock box. The shower plumbing may need looking at as we ran out of hot water more than once. The addition of a washing machine would be ideal, but appreciate there isn't much space for one.

A really well appointed flat. Spotlessly clean and lovely large rooms. Well located between the center of town and the beautiful outlook from the whale bones. Check in and information was very clear and accessible, we would definitely stay here again. West Cliff parking is the most convenient for this flat.

We felt very comfortable in the pretty "Time Out" flat. The communication was great and the flat is very well equipped. Thank you very much for everything. We enjoyed our time very much and will gladly come back again!

Great location, spacious apartment within walking distance to the seafront and town. Carpark located on the next street which was convenient. Kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. It was shame the apartment was not clean when we arrived as this hampered our enjoyment of the space. We were offered compensation by way of money towards a meal and this gesture was appreciated.

Huge space, really clean and great location, comfy bed

For a self catering apartment with a fully equipped kitchen there’s no table to sit at and eat food! If you did want to cook.

There’s plenty of room so a table with 4 chairs would have been much appreciated.

The sofa is also a bit small and not that comfy considering how big the room is. The window is a lovely feature so a couple of comfy chairs there would have been a great place for an evening drink.

it feels like a home from home type of property very cosy, and was perfect for a weekend away. location was great you turn right out of the door and there pubs abs shops on your doorstep

the bed was slightly uncomfortable but ok for 2 nights. the windows are huge sash windows which were lovely however the curtains at the front don’t fit properly so let light in and same with the bedroom window the blind was ill fitting so let light right in in the morning

One of the nicest AirBnBs we've stayed in. The flat is big, bright, and nice and cosy for when we visited in December. It was also impeccably clean. The location is great too (2 minute walk to town, 5 minutes to the beach; you can see both from the window). Overall would highly recommend, and would stay here if returning to Whitby!
