Property Details

The Space
As soon as you step foot in Brownside Chapel, you’ll feel the charming and welcoming vibe.

The incredible open plan living and dining area is a wonderful space to relax! With beams in the low ceiling and beautiful exposed stone walls, it has a very atmospheric feel. There is ample seating in the form of comfortable, grey sofas and a large flat screen TV is mounted on the wall. A round table sits at the rear of the space with traditional wooden chairs around it where you can enjoy home cooked meals with your loved ones.

The kitchen area is modern and bright with a minimalist style. You’ll have everything you need for your stay as it is fully equipped with an oven, fridge, dishwasher, washing machine, kettle, microwave and toaster.

The ground floor bedroom has a light and airy feel. The double bed dominates the space, and the neutral colour scheme creates a welcoming atmosphere in the room. Stunning rural views can be seen from the window.

The modern ground floor bathroom features a walk-in shower, wash basin and WC.

The other three bedrooms at Brownside Chapel are all located on the first floor. The second bedroom is a sophisticated haven with calming neutral tones and pops of colours. It features twin single beds. The third bedroom has a luxury feel, with a skylight window, exposed beams and comfy double bed. The fourth bedroom is yet another cosy space with a doubles and beams on a sloped ceiling.

A second bathroom can be found on the first floor. This spacious room is home to a bathtub, overhead shower, WC and basin.

Step outside and you’re on the terrace space, which has a stone-built wall around the edge. With outdoor seating and barbecue facilities, this spot is perfect for relaxing with friends and family.

For this reason, we require all our guests to transfer a Damage Deposit (refundable, subject to an administration charge) or, to purchase an Accidental Damage Waiver which will cover you for up to £500.00 of accidental damage during your stay.

Brownside Chapel is located in the village of Leadgate, two miles from the charming market town of Alston.

Situated in the heart of the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Alston is perched at one of the highest points in the country, so visitors are offered breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding moorlands and dales. Getting Around
The closest railway station to Leadgate can be found in Armathwaite, 16 miles away from the village. Part of the Settle to Carlisle line, you’ll find direct access to Carlisle, Morecambe, Lancaster, Skipton and Leeds.

Alston forms part of the heritage South Tynedale Railway which takes a journey past the original terminus at Gilderdale, on through Kirkhaugh and Lintley to the village of Slaggyford.

The closest airport to Leadgate is Newcastle International, 44 miles away.
