Shame lovley kitchen but bathroom dated, personal i would fit new bathroom, so same wow factor as kitchen with different lay out, And some sort of rail or small wardrobe in main bedroom as our bags could have gone on top of wardrobe and clothes hung on rails, instead of pegs? Nice room but bags on floor no where to go takes away wow factor if stay more than a day. It just looks messy with bags everywhere ? But as hosts fantastic, thankyou for the chocolates nice touch. I am a recycled designer i live in a church and storage and bathrooms in keeping with the property looks stunning and looks expensive. For next to nothing just being cleaver with design ideas if you send me your email address i will send you bathroom and kitchen designs using recycled parts, kind regards Stuart.

Lovely property, very clean and nicely decorated, in a great location for walks and exploring the North Yorkshire moors. The property owners seemed very nice, they left a box of chocolates and a card to welcome us - the actual property owners seemed lovely, pity they don't manage this property themselves because 'Host & Stay' are the only thing that put us off staying here again, or any other property that they manage. The host and stay property management company's approach to messaging guests was excessive and over the top. We arrived Friday evening and on Saturday morning when we woke up I had a text a message telling me ' We remind you that check out is tomorrow at 10am' - well of course I wont forget because I booked for 2 nights and the confirmation, previous 2 messages and the link to the webpage telling me about the property had clearly stated that 10am was the checkout time. Is this property company trying to 'add value' for the property owners who use their services. I cannot see what value they add at all. Furthermore you have to pay either £250 deposit with a £10 'processing fee' or pay an extra £25 for insurance - why isnt this included in the cost of the stay? I have never stayed anywhere that required me to pay for additional insurance to stay there, what is this model?

Booked a stay here last minute as we needed somewhere in the area to stay. We had to pay an extra £25 prior to being able to check in despite having paid the full amount to Airbnb. Couldn't cancel and get a refund from host and stay, they said it wasn't possible. The extra charge needs to be made crystal clear in the final payment and made to Airbnb.

A charming, nicely furnished and comfortable cottage with lovely courtyard garden, in a tranquil village and a lovely setting, with two good pub/restaurants very nearby.

Lovely accomodation, everything great. Perfect for two people. Only needs a shower but there is no space in the bathroom. Definitely recommend you to stay there.

Lovely cottage in a great location. Host and Stay however were very officious, and also insisted that a non-refundable additional accidental damage cover fee was paid in advance directly to them, even though this was not included in the total price (which I had already paid to airbnb) on the website - their response was that it was mentioned on the website, but when I looked and found it it was buried away in the small print and then even that didn't tell you how much it would be. When I complained they told me bluntly that if I didn't pay I wouldn't be able to stay in the cottage. In future I will try and avoid staying in any airbnb's that are managed by Host & Stay.

Holmlea was a great little cottage for our stay in North Yorkshire. It was clean, comfortable and well equipped. The only negative is its lack of a shower but this was clearly stated in advance.

The cottage was very nice. Very clean, great location, no complaints at all with it. There was no power for 24 hours. This isnt the hosts fault and is probably 1 in a million, however there was no support from the hosts or from the host and stay staff. I would have expected something. The staff didnt even know when i phoned them and thought it might just be a fuse box issue... it obviously wasnt. Lucky i had a power pack or we wouldnt have had sat nav the next day so wouldnt have been able to travel anywhere which would have completely ruined the trip.

Sweet little cottage in a great location. Just to note there is only a bath- no shower- but didn’t bother us. The company also asks for a separate deposit outside of Airbnb so just an FYI as it’s a bit of a hidden cost!

We had a lovely stay at Holmlea in the peaceful surroundings of Lockton. The cottage is comfortable and well equipped. The village is in a lovely peaceful location amongst the stunning North Yorkshire Moors. The village is well located for day trips to Whitby and Pickering as well as walking across the moors. We wished we could have stayed longer.

Probably the best Airbnb experience I’ve had. This place is picture perfect and filled with tonnes of thoughtful touches. Well equipped and spotless throughout, all in a stunning location. The only drawback is no shower but it was honestly such a lovely stay that we barely minded!

Nice cottage sitting dining room fine. Easytopark outside. Garden would have been OK if weather had allowed us to go in it. Quiet village. Not much in the village though (No shops etc). Very unhappy with the requirement by host and stay for a deposit. They give you the option to pay to leave a deposit or to insure against a loss. This wasn't obvious when booking and seems non negotiable along with giving personal information to the 3rd party who administer it. No shower and bathroom very low cieling in loft. No washing machine particularly as advertised for walking holidays when it can be essential. Bedroom quite small.

Leuke sfeer, mooi gestyled, lekker schoon, prachtig tuintje met veel zon, in een lief dorpje. 1.

We absolutely loved this cottage - it had such a comfy feel and the best and most sensibly equipped kitchen of Airbnb we've ever used. Didn't take in that there was shower when we booked but it wasn't an issue having baths. Check their photo provided on booking help you spot the right property as the maps were a little inaccurate. Hoping to go back to Holmlea for a longer stay in future!

Lovely cottage in a very pretty village that was perfect for a weekend getaway, with easy access to Pickering and the Dales. Very clean and nice garden. Only reason we have given it a 4 instead of a 5 is because of the issues we had accessing the property. Check in is remote, with the keys kept in a key safe box attached to the property. Host & Stay shared the code for the lock with us before check in, but it wasn't working when we tried it. Rang Host & Stay, who weren't overly helpful - simply told us it was 'definitely the right code' and we should keep trying as the maintenance team were too far away to come and help. Turns out the code they'd given us was wrong by one digit, which we only found out by chance as we were twisting the numbers. In the end, it took us about 30 minutes to get in. We would have been completely stuck if we hadn't stumbled across the code.

Immaculate, cosy, beautifully decorated, ideal location, so quiet, and yet so ideally located! Very comfy bed! Kitchen was spot on and it was effortless to cook full meals as if at home. I went for a weekend of complete rest so didn’t go far - Hole of Horcrum for a bracing walk and a mooch round Pickering as I NEEDED scones! I will be back at some point, no doubt!

This property was just what we needed for a short break. It was a home away from home. Tea, coffee and milk were provided and much appreciated. Really cute cottage. Perfect, picturesque location with an amazing tea room nearby for breakfast and lunch and cake. Cottage was comfy with everything we needed - very well equipped kitchen. The place was spotlessly clean. Chocolates and welcome card from the owners were a nice touch. Too many emails/messages from Host and Stay in the lead up to the holiday, but I’m sure this wouldn’t bother other people.

A super little cottage in a lovely quiet village yet only 10 minutes drive from Pickering. It was spotlessly clean and had very nice quality furnishings, towels and bed linen. It looked like everything was new. The hosts had provided some little extras in the kitchen, such as teabags, coffee washing-up liquid, foil etc which were appreciated. And the milk and chocs were a nice surprise. Nothing really: a king size bed would have been nice but we appreciate that space is at a premium in this little cottage. The link I was sent for "the exact location of the cottage" took me to a house 400 yards away so this needs to be corrected. Luckily I remembered that the photos showed a phone box outside the cottage so we found it after a short drive back.

I would definitely recommend this home to anyone who is looking for a gorgeous, quiet, modern cottage to stay here (I have already recommended to so many friends and family). The town of Lockton is stunning and the perfect place for one of the best sleeps we have had. The cottage has so many traditional features but with a perfect modern kitchen and style. I could not recommend this place more, the photos are exactly as the home is. And I would definitely recommend breakfast or lunch at the Lockton Tearooms!

The property was not in the location shown on the web site. There is no High street in Lockton or Levisham. I called the number provided days before we set out, and spoke to a female who did not seem to know anything aout the property, after checking she gave me an incorrect address at the other side of the village. The phone number provided is only availale mon- fri office hours only--pretty useless when your booked in from Sunday and cant find the place! The house is very small, no wardrobe or draws, and the bedroom is very small with no space to put a suitcase, we had to keep it in the living room. The bathroom too is incredibly small and without a shower. There was a carton of milk in the fridge, with a use by date of 7th June ( a week ahead ). When we opened it it was addled, probably 51 weeks old. There are no shops within miles. The nearest pub, the fox and rabbit, only serves with a reservation, even at 6.30pm on a wet Tuesday evening, and the pub in Levisham is only open at weekends. But there is a good pub, the New Inn, with good food 5 miles away in Thornton le Dale.

We loved how clean and homely the house was. The sofa was so comfy. We slept so well, no noise just birds tweeting away and the odd farm animal. The house has everything you need. They had tea and coffee in the kitchen. We arrived to a lovely hand written note and east eggs on the table. The home is easy to find and central to everything. There is a nice tea room down the street, well worth a visit. A little garden to sit out in at the back on a bench. The neighbours over the road had cute dogs that liked watching us out of the window. We definitely will be coming back again.
